Some of the ones already listed that have always stood out to me
The fricking kid in Doctor Sleep being murdered. Where in the hell did that come from? I get it's a Stephen King movie but I wasn't ready for that at all. I thought surely he's gonna get away but nope, ended that little leaguer right there
The lake stabbing in Zodiac has always been maybe the most realistic and disturbing murder I've ever seen. No scary music, no menacing threats from the killer, no strange metal on metal sound you always get in movie stabbings. It was calm and peaceful, he's just going to take our money, then all of a sudden a rapid thud sound and you and the victims realize oh frick he's plunging a steak knife into their backs as calmly as you and I would tenderize meat. It was like watching a snuff film of an actual murder
And Quint in Jaws. It's half disturbing to watch and half fascinating because of Robert Shaw's eerily realistic acting, the cuts, and the special effects. He didn't just scream the typical actor scream of I'm being killed, you could hear the panic in his voice trying to kick away from that shark after he'd slid down the boat toward its mouth, you could feel it and imagine exactly what it would be like. And the one last desperate "ehhHHH" before the shark bit down and the blood came gurgling up out of his mouth and you're like "Jesus that's what it's actually like to be bit in half". It's the most amazingly filmed death/attack scene I've ever seen

i was already pretty hypervigilant but watching that scene made me feel better about packing heat especially when I go camping or hiking and shite with my family.

Jacob Tremblay's acting in that scene was so good it emotionally disturbed the cast that was supposed to be killing him

The kid getting runover by the steamroller in "Maximum Overdrive" was pretty disturbing.
Going way back, does anyone remember the Dennis Quaid / Lou Gosset movie "Enemy Mine", one of the bandit miners fell into the drilling machine, pretty awful.

Go watch just about every death scene in any of the first 3 Saw movies. The one that stands out to me is the device that the black man that was strapped into that twisted his arms and legs and eventually his head to were everything snaps
this is the scene that came to mind first when I read the thread title. F**k that scene.

Only one that ever stayed with me is Saving Private Ryan where the Jewish dude stood aside and let the German guy killed the American.

Optimus Prime.
tMelt this caused forced GI Joe to edit Duke’s death scene in the movie and change it to a coma

The Jewish dude was the guy who was killed.

Major Kong in Dr. Strangelove. That was an exceedingly odd way to check out.

William Wallace in Braveheart and Insp. Rinaldo Pazzi in Hannibal. 2 disemboweling scenes that I still feel.

Did the guy that got curb stomped in American History X die? I can't remember because I could never watch that movie again because of that scene.
I can still hear his teeth rattling on the cement.

I've never seen Doctor Sleep, but just watched that scene. Um...movies don't normally affect me very much, but that scene just fricked me up big time. BIG time. And that's just watching the few-minutes-long scene on fricking youtube and not the actual movie itself. I don't know if it's because I have a little boy of my own now or what, but holy shite. I'm traumatized.

There is an interview with Rebecca Ferguson about this scene. It messed her up and several people on set. She had a 12 yo son at the time. Worst part about it was how long they made it last in the movie.

The Lake Berryessa murder in Zodiac. I know it was a true story, but that whole scene just freaks me out.
quote:
"Brian and I were here on the blanket, down by the water and we're just enjoying the afternoon having a nice time talking, and I saw this guy, he was coming down the hillside and he seemed to stop and watch us, looking at us, about 200-300 yards away."
"And then as we continued, I glanced and noticed he would get closer and closer, and pretty soon he was within 75-100 feet away."
She then looked again and he had gone, stepping behind a tree.
The man was observed adorning himself with a black executioners hood and a waistline bib, decorated with a crossed circle, along with a pair of sunglasses, gloves, and military-style boots. He then approached the young couple, to which Cecelia would alert Bryan, "Oh my God, he's got a gun."

Later, per an investigator, "When I went to the roadway I saw their white Karmann Ghia, and I saw tracks leading away from it. On the passenger door there were several dates, which were our crimes, so he had left his calling card — what he had done. I recognized the symbol on the door as being the same symbol she had described on the hood."

I know not a movie, but Muck and Pincalla during Bastogne in Band Of Brothers. They were there, and then they weren’t. Nothing to bury. Nothing to say goodbye to. Just gone. Bucks reaction gets me every time. Donnie Walhberg as Lipton in that episode is absolutely incredible.
The “look at the flowers” episode of Walking Dead. You knew it had to happen, but I didn’t think they’d actually do it. Could you imagine a kid becoming so fricked up in a world to rationalize that evil? Damn. That one bothered me a lot at the time.
The scene where John Wick wakes up and they show the blood trail where his dog crawled back to him make me mad. I really enjoyed what follows in that movie, especially the first time i saw it.
