Actual trailer comes out tomorrow. Plot is supposed to focus more on the actual tournament.

Good. I know a lot of people didn't like the one from a few years ago, but I did. My main gripe was the main character/fighter dude they chose...wasn't a big fan of him (or his special ability).

It was great finally getting a not low budget version of MK. I didn't understand making an original character the lead.

That was pretty awesome, and I like Karl Urban, but he's not Johnny Cage. He needs to be more pretty boy arrogant prick, not brute looking like Urban.

If they really understand their audience, they'll bring back this absolute BANGER!
It's as timeless as Bohemian Rhapsody, Stairway to Heaven, Wonderwall...
and as cheesy as the first movie was, it's still a cult classic and they absolutely nailed the opening with the song kicking in over the New Line Cinema logo and the Mortal Kombat logo with the fire. And the Johnny Cage/Scorpion fight absolutely nails the game feel with awesome locations. Really well done. /nerd rant over

I’m excited for Mortal Kombat 2
But damn now I want some Johnny Cage movies. Like the movies his character starred in not movies based in the MK universe. He’s the perfect character to bring back the Chuck Norris/JCVD/Stephen Segal action genre.

He is almost assuredly out of budget for this movie and would need to put on muscle for it, but Ryan Gosling would kill it IMO.
Hell, Ryan Reynolds could do it. But I don't really want to see Deadpool as Johnny Cage, which is what it would end up being.

I always thought of Johnny Cage as a washed up older actor like Ben Stiller in Tropic Thunder. But that may not be canon idk. They’re probably going that route with him regardless. I believe they went that route in the og movie.
