It's all been a rumor up until today. I think most people thought, or at least hoped, they wouldn't be this stupid. But here we go.

You answered your own question. They hate it as it exists and this is a way to tear it down. One might even say "subvert".

So will Aslan not have a lion's mane? If he does, it will be a males Lion with a woman's voice. I am glad she is a Lewis fan. I am sure he would love her turning the Christ figure into a morphodite lion.

Because they have no creativity and have to take something already proven and make their version of it. That’s why every wildly popular show gets hijacked with woke shite by season 3 when they already have a vested fan base. Nobody would watch that shite from the start.

Their desire to destroy outweighs their desire to make money. That's their level of commitment to the subversion.

Just looked it up and this was reported by Deadline a year ago

Did you really not think the shrill feminist director would pull this shite? It's all they know how to do. If she hadn't been handed the easy money Barbie project, which was an otherwise shitty movie, her cumulative career box office would be on par with the opening weekend of any random Christopher Nolan movie.

Yes.

Let’s cast a woman to voice him.

And they can afford to keep doing it because they are compensated by outside forces like China and the middle east, who want to frick up American culture.

It’s the ideologically captured version of a child breaking a toy so another kid can’t have it

That's too bad. Loved the books and was disappointed by the movie. She made a good choice starting with The Magician's Nephew. That is one of the better books. I always pictured this woman playing the villain:

Then again, the villains in The Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will probably be swapped out to be white men.

Fully agree

RoP thought they were doing epic shite, and the expected controversy would subside and everyone would come around. They were wrong, but that doesn't change the intention

Joker 2 was made to antagonize and chastise fans of the first movie

I’m not a Narnia fan, but this casting is ironically the absolute epitome of pretentiousness.

This was already doomed.

Netflix was never going to give us an honest representation of the source material.

The story and Netflix creative minds are fundamentally and ideologically opposed.

I’ve watched this casting like a hawk. Yes, initially there were lots of talk and stories of her voicing Aslan. But it subsided. Some thought they threw it out there just to check backlash. There were secondary rumors that she may be playing another character which has been what everyone has thought recently. Today was the first film on confirmation.
