Press outing labels this "Gayest Marvel Show Ever"
I just wish you guys had the ability to differentiate between one outlet making one comment to one cast member and general press labels this as gay or "creators confirm this is the gayest so and so ever".
Because posting a red carpet spot hosted by a very gay man I'd obviously meant to extend the appeal of this show to a gay audience. It's not the core strategy of the marketing to the wider audience.

I am differentiating. The press isn't.
The press thinks they are being complimentary. If "The Acolyte" hadn't epically failed after a similar turn. . .this would not be a story.
But it did
So it is.
After reading some early reviews, I think this is a show for gays and people who use words like "cis" unironically.

Now from my understanding, this is not a kid's show but rather for adults. I've been told here multiple times that people have no problem with gay representation as long as it isn't being shoved down their kid's throat. So I am sure this being called the gayest Marvel show won't cause people to skip it and they will judge it on the quality of the show like they do with Deadpool, Modern Family, etc.
I say all that to say I'm still not bothering to watch a show that got greenlit because a song from WandaVision became an internet sensation for a few days. I have no idea who would be clamoring for a show about the *checks notes* Fantastic Four's babysitter. Maybe if it was about the maid from the Brady Bunch, I might be down. Ann Davis was great back in the day.

I didn’t watch WandaVision so I probably won’t watch this,
but I do remember in general people liking the character.
There are just a lot of posters here who I guess can’t talk about how much they hate gays and minorities enough on the Poli board.

As I posted earlier, it's time to just ignore this stuff.
No, I’d rather myself and others know. Being an ostrich with head in the sand is how we got here. But you know that.
Silence only contributes to ignorance.

Or, maybe they're doing a red carpet press junket with the gay dude because the show is gay asf.

Y’all sucking each other off in these threads is gayer than anything in the shows.

Can't be any gayer than you cupping the balls of a multi-billion dollar corporate conglomerate in defense of *checks notes* Democrat pet causes.

Why are you constantly trying to interject politics into a movie/TV forum??

They are showing their cards. It really is about pushing their ideology into everything.
Now they are being outed. People are now gathering info on a movie/show BEFORE they watch it. Then deciding whether to put their money into it or not.
Jay Are gave it away and I actually saw a few lib tweets saying the same thing. "They need to put a lid on these actors in enterviews before the show/movie comes out."
The wokeness is destroying shows before it starts. So they are going to have to do their best to hid it now.
Here's one example:
quote:
"The internet (far right) exaggerates their "downfall."
But stuff like this needs to get nipped in the bud already. That's on Iger to make sure his teams understand this."
It's too late though.

Said it before, I'll say it again. Woke themes are fine, if it is organic and well written.
It is the ham-fisted preachiness that ruins most of it. The marginalized-identity-as-a-replacement-for-personality is another trope that needs to be done away with.
This could be a Pitch meeting sketch:
Writer: This character is a gay black woman
Producer: Tell me more about her.
Writer: I just told you everything.
