Yikes, I had no idea Katy got that big. I guess it's been a few years since I've seen her on TV. She has always seemed really likable. I'm guessing there will be more sitcom roles for her in the future.

It probably helped her career tbh.

Becoming a go to “TV parent” is one of the best gigs in Hollywood

There’s like 5 people that sitcoms and movies use for those roles, if you can be on that list you’ll never be out of work

Kind of like making it to coaching at the D1 or NFL level, once you get in, you’re set for life.

So I just watched the season 5 finale of American Housewife and I swear, looks like Katy is still getting bigger/ fatter.

Must be closing in on 250 lbs.
Still wild transformation compared to how she looked 9 year ago.

Truth. I’m not a big fan of the current thicccness movement, and when I first saw her in that I thought she was too big. But then every time she rocked a tight pair of blue jeans...

I take it some of you didn't go to your 10 or 20 year class reunions.

Some women just blow up after having kids and are never the same.

Most sitcoms have the "Fred Flintstone Syndrome" fat slob with a smoking hot wife. Think "King of Queens" and "World according to Jim".

So she may struggle for work the bigger she gets, she could always work on "This is Us" when Crissy Metz has her inevitable heart attack.

While I've seen plenty of real world examples of people that look hotter than their spouses, it's usually one of a few things:

1. Money
2. One doting on the other
3. A long-kindled relationship

It's rare this gets translated in a sitcom. The guy is usually working a mediocre job, seems to treat his wife like crap 30-50% of the time, and they'll talk about how they met in college or even later.

It's almost as if TV writers are saying, "Have a decent sense of humor, bag a Victoria Secret's model."

A few things can screw with a metabolism that makes it near impossible to come back from.

Having kids.
Certain medications.
Other medical complications.
Hell, if you smoked and then quit you can end up gaining a lot of weight without altering any other part of your routine.

Here is a video from the last part of the season 5 finale of American Housewife.

Katy Mixon´s character reveals a pregnancy, but there has not been any confirmation of Katy being pregnant currently in real life.

To be fair, at that point you can't really call that portion "Fred Flintstone Syndrome" because Barney to Betty was just as disproportionate as Fred to Wilma.
