The crash scene was after the show was over. Many films and TV series have gone back to the beginning during the closing credits.

Greeks before both. Jacob's family seemed more Grecian or some other nondescript Hellenistic society
I don't think so. I think we know that there were protectors prior to Mother. They protected the light. The light was kept in place because there was a plug/cork that kept the water from draining. That plug already had teh old Egytian hieroglyphics on it, suggesting it was built by Egyptians. Thus, the Eqyptians predated the Greeks/Hellenists and likely built a lot of the stuff on the Island...statue, temple, etc. They just hadn't harnessed the light/water like the Greeks did.

It was fun the first 3-4 repeat debates, why not another one?
Ok, I'll take one for team Rational....
Here we go again....
Look when you consider Aaron's age, it doesn't make any sense. So when they show the plane crash at the end, it signifies that....
Just kidding.

Why did he not want to take Daniel?
Daniel still thought he was responsible for "splitting" the timelines.

I think it could be Jack's perspective, but I think they all go back to the "most important time of their life" and that was it for all of them. Also, they were all coming to their realization and "letting go", so it was important for all of them. And Ben made a choice to stay as well.
Yeah, I agree.

What he's saying is, if Aaron lived after the island, then he would be grown up in Purgatory and not stunted as an infant.
And it's a baby in the church because thats the time that it was with the whole cast.....Kate and Sawyer and the rest on the plane got off and are assumed to have died of old age, but they aren't 90 in the church, because they weren't 90 during this time of their lives.

I think the real debate should be whether the purgatory/meet-up was Jack's perspective or their collective perspective.
Arguments can be made for both sides.

However, when you think about it, Ben just wanted to be close to Jacob, not become Jacob. So, he got to become close to Hurley.
Ben wanted to be important, special. He wasn't after power for power's sake, he was after it for self-respect as he always seemed to just miss the brass ring (like Jacob not talking to him even though he was in charge of the Others). Apparently, Hurley making him his version of Richard gave him that sense of fulfillment.
With that accomplished, he chose to stay behind because (I think) to experience how life may have been without the island's interference.

Which makes it possible that the whole show is purgatory!?!?

Seriously though, I think the writers pulled the purgatory thing for the sideways out of their arse at the end. They built that up as a cross-timeline, especially with Jack's bleeding, and there was no good way to merge the two timelines. I think I would have been happier if when Desmond pulled the stone out the island ceased to exist and the alternate timeline became reality with them remembering the island still.

i like how they said there is no time in the afterlife timeline..
helps in explaining how for some a week passed and for others just a day or so.

Kate, Sawyer, Lupidus, Miles all flew the jet off the island and lived their lives after they got back to civilization
Kate became a successful assistant managers at Applebees.
Sawyer started his own air conditioning business and retired in Santa Monica.
Lapidus re-enlisted in the air force at age 56 and flew 57 successful bombing missions in Afganiztan.
Miles invented a device that shrinks coins like quarters and nickels down to smaller sizes so they take up less space in your pocket.

It was clearly all built by the same aliens that built the pyramids. My money is on the Goa'uld.

No one until Desmond was able to get into that pool and survive as far as we know. It only makes sense that whoever put the plug there made the writings on it. I'm just making deductions.

I think the crash scene may have been significant if it were shown after the black LOST screen appeared. But once it appeared the show was over. It was about as significant as a 20 second clip of "sit booboo, sit"

Really? The show's rationality is tenuous at best, some accept it, Team Rational has a hard time, as outlined in a prior post. My post was a joke anyways.
No need for insults.
