That was back in the early days of TD. The discussions were crazy. It was a time before streaming video and bingeing. People still watched network TV at weekly scheduled times. There had never really been a network TV show in that genre that was shot and written so well. Now there are so many shows like that on TV.

I watched the entire series on a weekly episode by episode basis. The season ending cliffhangers were torture.

That show will always have a special place in my heart. Much simpler times back then.

Rewatched a few weeks back... Think that is my second rewatch and it was fantastic.

Initially, I wasn't happy with the ending, but this time it hit differently. I think it was very well done and made more sense this time around.

Maybe I need to do a rewatch. Perhaps it all comes together better without the breaks.

While I didn’t love the ending, it was more about the writers throwing so much mysterious shite out there that there was no way to wrap it all up. With no specified end date, the writers were as lost at times as the characters. A show like that cannot be done properly without an established timeline for the story.

Same. But Michael did her and Libby wrong. Poor Hugo. But Ben was a master manipulator.

I enjoyed the back in time plot. Roger Workman and his beer run....Horace.....Myles' dad....Danielle going crazy....

The recall to the bodies they found in the water cave hit me good.

Oh shite....and burying that hottie and her latin lover alive.....lol.

It's not often there are so many characters in a show that you actually care about and are interested in their story and arc. Feels like almost every single character that gets screen time has something interesting going on with them, even the ones who were short lived.

Not spoiling anything here, but save for maybe one or two characters, all of the characters had satisfactory arcs. Unlike Game of Thrones, in the end no one was bitching about the characters, and just half of the people who watched it hated the ending vs the half that loved it. It is the most divisive ending to a show ever, but don’t let it distract you. Personally I still love the ending.

The only character I truly hated was Michael, whiny bitch. My son, my son! Damn. Oddly enough, love his character in From.

My favorite show of all time.
Loved watching it as it aired and rewatched a few times. I’ll admit I didn’t fully get the ending on the first watch, but once I understood it I thoroughly enjoyed the finale.

I keep starting a rewatch, I have probably seen S1E1 5 times but I just can't commit. There is only 1 more episode of a Breaking Bad and The Wire rewatch combined. When that creeps into my head I always abandon ship.

Hell, there are more episodes than 4, 8, 15, 16, 23 and 42 combined.

No it wasn't even close to being a good ending. Good show, awful ending.

Not sure where you land on this but my issue wasn't the very end if that's what you are getting heat for hating. The finale was good. The final scene was great. The run up to that for a few seasons got be a bit of a convoluted mess where they would introduce more mysteries just for the sake of it.

I will still contend that the first 2 seasons are some of the best TV ever made. Some of the individual episodes some of the best ever as well.

I watched it every week for all those seasons as a first run series--it was my only "DO NOT talk to me while I'm watching this show" show. I couldn't WAIT for that new episode each week. I did not understand and did not like the ending....I should probably watch it all again! Or google an explanation!

Yea I mean more of the final season than the final episode. By the final episode I knew a bunch of stuff wasn't going to be answered. It was more of the realization in that final season that there are multiple things they are going to just want you to pretend never happened. And just the story in general faded in the final season. That's not just nitpicking on my part, you can just google "things LOST never answered" in google and a boatload of articles will pop. It's not a big deal to some people they didn't answer a lot of questions and that's cool, I honestly wish it wouldn't bother me.

I agree with you, the first two seasons are top tier TV. The pilot episode is one of the best pilot episodes ever too.
