And you still had trouble the following it.

Are we still dragging this moron or what?

It’s a high fantasy story that requires you to have read all of the books to even have the slightest understanding of what’s going in on.
Only if you aren't paying attention. They explain all the necessary backstory during the opening minutes of the first movie.

Lucas managed to create a trilogy that was super fun to watch and didn’t rely on his audience having to read a source material to understand the story at all.
No, he did all that AFTER the movies came out.

On judgement day, after St Peter leads you to the throne of God, and Jesus is sitting there looking at you intently, respectfully raise your hand and ask to speak

More stupidity. You tried to argue the movies were hard to follow and the trilogy "requires" you to have read the books to have the "slightest understanding" of what was going on.
In what world is that a defensible stance?

Because at least Star Wars has opening story cards at the beginning of their films

Star Wars gives you a paragraph in under a minute, while Lord of the Rings gives you about 5-6 minutes of direct exposition, with live action scenes illustrating it, to start each movie.
Beyond that, there is literally exposition almost every step of the way. Almost every action taken by most characters, they discuss aloud (so that the audience knows what they are going to do).
Often, there's commentary (Merry does this a lot) to reinforce what's going on.
Gimli demonstrates that the Ring can't be destroyed. He describes the land Frodo must travel on the other side of the River (the Emyn Muil). He summarizes the chances of success for Aragorn's plan.
Even Gollum partakes. He talks out his betrayal plan beforehand, leaving nothing to doubt. He sets rules of engagement in the Dead Marshes, don't follow the tricksy lights or try to touch the bodies. He explains (as if anyone would be confused) that it's "wraiths with wings" buzzing them in the Dead Marsh.
And as for your comparing to Star Wars (OT); I say this as a big fan of that trilogy, and also as someone who prefers Tolkien's books to Jackson's movies-
the LOTR movie trilogy is far more coherent and consistent than Star Wars.
Luke's big motivation for going on this quest was because he has the hots for Leia. It shapes a lot of what he does in the first movie, and Han plays off his jealousy some. That gets weird when they decide to make them siblings later on.
Vader can sense the Force in Luke while dogfighting over the Death Star, but can't pick up anything from Leia despite personally torturing and interrogating her, then holding her physically while her planet is destroyed in front of her.
Vader goes from following Tarkin's commands (Leia says he's on a leash) to being the Emperor's personal groomed apprentice and 2nd in command.

Seeing your Aggie avatar explains it all.
You have it backwards; the books are super hard. Tolkien is hard.
The movies simplify it.

The opening epilogue in Fellowship is 8 minutes long
In another thread you said the Star Wars PREQUELS have a special place in your heart. That kind of tells us all we need to know, even if you didn't have 20 retarded replies in this thread.

almost 400 downvotes. This is early frontrunner for worst Movie Tv board thread.

Because they do. The world-building in those films, the love story musical theme between Anakin and Padme, and the tragic flaw of Anakin when it comes to wanting to save Padme from death. At its core, Star Wars is a re-incarnation of Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with A Thousand Faces.
Hayden Christensen knocked it out of the park as Anakin, especially in Revenge of the Sith.

Never been a fan either. But I fully understand why people love them.

Troll confirmed
I'm not going to lie. The prequels are a bit of fun, even Attack of the Clones, but the level of cheese in those movies is unavoidable.
Watu. Sand getting everywhere. Jake Lloyd's fairly bad acting. Jar Jar. The High Ground. I mean I love them too, for what they are, but LOTR is much better in literally every respect, it's not even a debate.
