Landman - I'm late to the party (possible spoilers)

I recently started watching once I was able to find it on Plex (thank you, you know who you are).
The first couple episodes hooked me but I've never seen a show go downhill so fast. I'm only about 7 or 8 episodes in, and already losing interest and motivation to continue. Namely, the storylines with the ex-wife and daughter are dumb and unbelievable and inconsistent.
Does it get better?

Prolly more tolerable watching once a week than binging.

I mean it's a Sheridan show, they're dumb
I fast forwarded plenty of the wife scenes, especially the dinner table tantrum that happened like 4x, but I'll still watch because of BBT

I enjoyed it but would have been much better without the wife. They are filming season 2 right now.

I mean she spent the first half of the season in a bathing suit, there isnt much you havent seen at this point.

I think the general consensus is it’s a dumb, mediocre show that is saved by the legend himself BBT

A series about the oil business, run ins with the cartels, what the son is doing in the last episode, etc would be an interesting series. The son's romantic life, the ex-wife/daughter storylines are just awful. Sheridan doesn't know how to write women.

I just finished, the season finale sucked. I can't imagine a season two being great.

BBT is good in this. Ali Larter still hot. The son is a dumbass but the mamacita, he is shacking up with is HAF. Kayla Wallace (lady lawyer) is excellent, especially when you consider that she came from Hallmark.
One big problem as the biggest badass "Landman" BBT's character would be making around 200 thou or more a year and would not need weird roommates.

after the wife and daughter moved in, i don't know how he doesn't either move or send the roommates packing. Who wants to have these guys hanging around with the wife and daughter parading around half naked all of the time?

Didn't they say he lost everything during the oil bust a few years prior? Seems like he is in a lot of debt.

Ali Larter is the biggest drag at this point. The son and his GF's storyline is too but it's enough of a disaster to keep me interested.
TBH they could just do 10 episodes of BBT talking down to the lawyer girl and her looking hot and offended and I'd probably watch that

I understood the house belongs to the company and its employees live there when they're at work. It's very common for a company to buy a house or apartment and have employees stay there.
But yeah, if it's Billy Bobs, I'd kick the 2 other dudes out!
