Watching right now. Just saw the part where Ralphie opens the Red Ryder.
Love watching the Old Man light up when he tells Ralphie there’s something else behind the piano. The Old Man came through for him.

in jewish and only started watching christmas movies very recently as an adult.
Christmas Story is severely overhyped.
It’s a Wonderful Life lives up to the hype.

There's actually a sequel, also narrated by Jean Shepherd, called My Summer Story.

It’s the McRib of Christmas movies. Everyone gets excited about it once a year only to remember it’s not that great

“ my father wove a tapestry of obscenities that to this day can still be seen over Lake Michigan” is an all time line

I rewind this part a couple times every time I watch it.
Awesome.

Not the worst. I watched a lot of Santa Stole our Dog the other night on The Movie Channel. I think it was worse, but must admit I didn't finish it.

It’s a cute and well done movie that does well as a slice of real life holidays portrayal but departs strongly from both the spirituality and secular idealism that most people feel about this time of the year. So I get the disdain from those who enjoy more the spiritual Christian aspects and also the all smiles, everything is great types of holiday movies. A lot of things about it irritate me like the abject materialism and the buffoon father, but it’s still pretty endearing overall.

The people in the background scenes are some of the best moments in the movie, both for good acting and losing it. That scene is some great stuff from the old man.
The scene where the lamp is broken and he is trying to fix it, the mom is in the background just cracking up the whole time, she can't keep it together. Same with the ending restaurant scene.

I hate this movie with so much passion. I think the person who created this movie somehow is connected to the person who came up with those damn Jardiance commercials.

Well, that’s ridiculous.
