Aemond and Daemon are the best characters
Anyone else think Aemond is basically turning into a younger version of Daemon?

I think thats kind of the sub plot between those two. They see themselves in each other and they have mixed feelings about it.

think you may be mixing up another future Targaryen civil war involving an Aegon and Aemon(d). Aegon The Unworthy bought into the rumors that his sister wife slept with Aemon the Dragon Knight and was the actual father of the the heir to the throne. So, Aegon legitimizes Daemon Blackfyre and the rest of his bastards which leads to 3-5 rebellions.
I could also be forgetting lines in the book about the potential of Aemond sleeping with Heleana. A lot of the stories run together.
The Youtube video I watched was definitely talking about this Aemond during the Dance BUT I cannot be certain that HE did not mix up his source material. If I remember correctly he mentioned that it was a fan theory so maybe it was never stated outright anywhere and it was just a theory fans put together by trying to connect dots. His evidence that I remember is that Aemond was always nicer and closer to Heleana than Aegon was and was more upset about the death of the prince than the king.

You may be right then. That rings a bit of a bell. GRRM tends to that a lot having events call back to other historical events.

so myseria definitely told someone that the evil twin was coming for the queen right? Otherwise how would his brother know to come to the rescue?
I suppose she will be staying in dragonstone now

She will become Team Black’s Larys, without the limp or feet fetish

Cole could have been a badass character but damn he is unlikeable
He is so awful and with his hypocritical righteousness. It's a damn shame too, as he is the hottest guy on the show.

Leaks are out for E4 (Rook's Rest) on Reddit for anyone who cares to see what they're gonna trash next.

I think that will change when he starts leading troops into battle.
How bad do they trash Rook's Rest?

If you're not enjoying the show then why watch? I don't get the mentality of hate watching something.
They also aren't trashing anything. The book is a history told from a POV that can't have all the details because they weren't in every room and didn't witness every decision and conversation. The show is showing the true events as they happen. So they aren't (thus far) going against the books, the are filling in the blanks.
If you don't care for how they are filling in the blanks that is a completely fair position to take but why continue to watch?

Holy crap, you’re keeping up with who’s directing specific episodes?
I watch a few minutes, and all characters are pretty much the same.
King Arthur and Knights of the Round Table is more interesting.

Is this the first time EVIL TWIN has been mentioned on the MT board?

quote:True. Which gives the showrunners some freedom to change the characters from the books, yes. But changing them drastically from what they created themselves in the first season is stupid.

Examples? I'm open to be persuaded but the only characters that are inconsistent are Aegon and Alicent. But that can be explained as Aegon trying to live up to his kingly status and Alicent growing tired of "the game".

You don't think this happens in real history? An unforeseen outcome claimed as purposeful in the history books?

this is going to sound horrible and terribly misogynistic but…there’s a pretty good reason in this universe that “kings” are always male; they may have to fight and kill with their hands and not on a giant fire lizard
the whole scene with the Eric’s I was kind of put off by rhaenyra cowering in the corner. At least shithead aegon would have grabbed a sword…
this world is brutal and we’ve seen plenty of rulers with bloody hands. I get the storyline but I kinda side with the patriarchy here

The male vs female thing is the reason this war is happening, imo. I don't think it has anything to do with Rhaenyra's kids being bastards.
Completely agree! Vicerys made it clear who his successor should be. Rhaenyra is his oldest child and he wanted her. His Hand wants to usurp the King's wishes and install his grandson as King and is using the male/female heir thing to do so. The bastards are not the real issue.
