Ramsay was brilliant in his planning and schemes. Way more intelligent than Cole. Ramsay outmaneuvered everyone he went up against and was only beaten because Little Finger and Sansa show up just in time with the Knights of the Vale during the BOB.

Should probably invalidate your opinion, but okay.

Not sure why you thought Joffrey and Ramsay were so smart.
Maybe smart is the wrong word. They were very creative in their evil deeds. Cole is just a psycho retard.

NGL. I expected the kid's head to come off when the funeral wagon got stuck in the pothole.

At a minimum, I figured the muddy white cloak to come back in the fight between the twins.

Jeoffrey was cunning and did employ strategies at times. Ramsay was brilliant. Cole is neither, just a hotheaded, self loathing hypocrite.

Only time Joffrey was smart was when he figured out dragons were a threat while Tywin brushed them off.

I can't recall them in Fire and Blood but in the show they are using scorpions to try and shoot the dragons.

I felt like in GoT Pycelle essentially came up with the idea of the scorpion. Cercei mentioned that Pycelle was working on something and he revealed it to her like it was his invention/he was the first one to make a giant crossbow or a weapon that could take down a dragon.

Having them in this show and calling them scorpions seems to contradict that.

I think it was Arryk that killed himself.

Erryk is also cut in the forehead during the fight.

Like all the damned similar Targ names weren't bad enough.

I've been thinking about this as well. Pretty sure that was Qyburn, not Pycelle. Regardless, it wouldn't be outlandish for either of them to take credit for someone else's work. They could have seen the scorpions in some book and decided to recreate them.

my recollection is that qyburn found a drawing of the scorpion in an old book and then directed to have them made. Dragons had been gone for a long time by then and the knowledge had been “lost”…not unusual

Stone cold mic drop from Otto. It was the first time in a dozen episodes or so that I dug him.

He's tired of his grandson's petulant horse shite.

Otto was amazing to watch in that entire scene. His facial expressions alone had me cracking up.

You're correct. Forgot about that. That clears it up then.

Dorne used scorpions to kill one of the OG dragons.

Qyburn knew his history and they would be new to most everyone else.

although, you certainly can make the case that a giant crossbow bolt is a pretty common sense way to defend against a dragon

dont really need to be da vinci to figure that one out

What the hell was the point in having a whole scene with the spy chick seeing the twin and calling the guard, if it had zero influence on him getting in and walking around the castle for what was probably a half hour or more to find the right room to infiltrate?

I hate pointless filler.
