I'm a non reader or halo player but really enjoying it. Seems there's a lot in this world to set up to have any depth to the series. The first episode felt a bit campy, simular to starship troopers.
The visuals since then have been amazing, and really like the soundtrack and various settings. The asteroid colony is pretty badass and a pretty unique concept.
It does feel a bit slow, but it's also laying a foundation to go for multiple seasons without having a bunch of flashbacks.

I haven't watch E3 yet. Is there anymore nudity in it?

they kinda introduced the flood so maybe that will come into play soon too.

I just finished episode 3 and apparently I 100% missed that. Are you referring to the reference to a virus that wiped out Eridanus II?
The worms on the ship were Lekgolo.
I stand by my previous assessment. If you go in with zero expectations of who the characters should be or what the story should look like, it's not a bad sci-fi flick. This episode in particular. The Corata scenes (especially when she had a physical form) and the Lekgolo scene were fantastic.

Yes, but those are the worms all stuck together wearing armor.

They eventually stopped kidnapping children and allowed regular ODSTS to volunteer for future spartan generations. I guess they either grew a conscious or they did it out of desperation when the covenant began killing billions.

The worms are called Lekgolo and when you shoot a Hunter in the back they "bleed" orange from the worms. They can also form machines like the Scarabs that were first shown in Halo 2.

The ODSTS won some battles against the covenant on the ground. Most of the time they lost and the reason why is they couldn't one on one match up with the elites. They were much stronger and had energy shields that the ODSTS lacked. However the UNSC did capture this technology and reverse engineered the spartan armour to make the spartans on par with the elites. But most importantly the elites were superior ship masters and destroyed many UNSC fleet in battles. The UNSC didn't win very many battles and if they did, they sustained heavy losses. The gap in tech between the UNSC and the covenant were hundreds of years.

If I remember correctly, humans were on par with every of the species millions of years ago and the forerunners got pissed off at something and sent us back to the stoneage. Most of Halo was humanity rediscovering their role in the universe.

Not quite the reason. The Covenant didn’t care much for tactics because they had superior tech. So they destroyed UNSC ships because they were just more advanced. It would take something like 8 UNSC ships to take down one 1 covenant ship.
Though Cortana mentioned the Covenant didn’t know how to use their own weapons properly. All their tech was reverse engineered from the Forerunners so they didn’t fully understand them. When Cortana hacked into one of the ships, she was able to fire much larger and more accurate beams then what the Covenant typically shot with their ships.
The only exception was the AI. Covenant AI were dumb and not very numerous AI whereas humans had smart AI and tons of dumb AI.

Honestly wish they had stuck with the Forerunners being humanity’s ancestors. That was Bungie’s original plan but 343 changed it. It also introduced the true origins of the flood.
But yeah humanity was super advanced but not quite as advanced as the Forerunners. Humanity and the Prophet’s ancient race were fleeing from the flood and taking over Forerunner worlds and they took it as an act of war.
Most of this was actually introduced in Halo 4 but I’m pretty sure a lot of people missed it because the scene was essentially a ton of dialogue squeezed into a few minutes

The Ancient Humans were close to the Foreunners in tech. Both fought for a thousand years. The humans were fighting off the flood and entered Forerunner territory and laid waste to many planets in order to contain the spread. The Forerunners saw this as an act of war but the Diadect found out the humans were chosen to hold the mantle of responsibility for all life. But the Diadect was jealous and waged war against the humans. They eventually surrendered but were devolved as punishment. Starting from scratch.
The prophets found out that the humans were chosen as holding the mantle of responsibility and thus waged a genocide against the humans.

The elites were all about tactics on the battlefield and in space. It is the reason why the prophets chose them to lead the covenant and protect the prophets until the chief killed one of them. They lost confidence in them and gave the responsibility to the brutes who were inferior in tactics and strategy. Even a ship Master who was told that they were outnumbered said that now the odds were even. Yes they had better tech but it wasn't overwhelming superior. But it is apparent that the best that the UNSC had to offer were no match for the Elites in space as countless planets were glassed and billions died.
They may not have full understood the technology but they were smart to actually use it. The covenant AIs were dumb because the elites refused to rely on them as they had no need to take advice on battle tactics from an AI.
