born in the 80's
I watched all of the Star Wars movies with my dad on tv and loved them.
We had a VHS of them that my dad recorded off tv, so it had the commercials on it too. I watched Return of the Jedi more than the others, and that VHS also had Indiana Jones Temple of Doom on it so i watched both of those movies over 100 times easily. To this day i still say "commercial" when watching those two movies and knowing when the commercial break was on that VHS recording.
My first theatre experience was Phantom Menace. Even as a young teenager i knew the dialogue was bad, but i still enjoyed it. I still love the pod race to this day. It is legit the best scene to test out your surround sound on. And i still remember just being in awe of the light saber fights with Darth Maul.

10 years old. My mother dropped off me and my same age neighbor at the Ellick mall theater. To say we were amazed would be an understatement.

I was too young when IV came out in Theatres originally. When Empire came out I was 5. By that time I had all of the toys and I still have the Burger King Cups from Empire as well. The special effects at that time were so far ahead of anything else out there.
One quick note is that the very first movie I watched on Beta Max was the original Star Wars. I remember the day when my Dad brought it home. Before that time you had to either wait for these movies to come on TV or go to the Movies to watch it. That simple thing was such a big deal to watch at home and whenever you wanted to. I kind of miss that.

I was 11 and saw the movie at Lakeside Cinema(shopping center) or Joys Cinema City Six(Kenner). The only movie I remember seeing with my Dad at a theater. I was amazed of the whole movie but according to my mom he was not impressed.
I'm sure he was interested to see what all the hub bub was about as he was a Star Trek(tv) fan. It would have been interesting if he lived long enough to see the first Star Trek movies but he passed in 1978.

I was born in 79 so the only original trilogy Star Wars I got to see in the theater was Return of the Jedi. I don't know if the theater is still there but there was a theater on the USL campus in Lafayette and I saw it there with my cousin/best friend who's mother worked for the University.

Star Wars came out in the summer before my Jr year of HS. I saw it with my boyfriend (later became my husband) on opening weekend. We saw it 2 more times that summer. It seemed like everybody went to see this movie. It played in the theater all summer long and into the fall. On opening weekend, I saw it at Mall St. Vincent in Shreveport. The lines were crazy. But back then, you had to go early and wait in line for tickets. While it's not like I enjoyed waiting in line, it was a very different experience going to see a movie in the theater back then compared to now. There was just a lot more excitement about it because there wouldn't be an option to see it at all if you didn't go to the theater.
The other 2 times, I saw it at the old movie theater in Minden that was by the really old Walmart, or maybe it was Gibson's? I think there have been 2 new Walmarts built in Minden since then.

I was 8 and oblivious about new movies coming out. My dad took me & my brother. Saw it at Lakeside Mall. Blown away as a kid. Saw the first 3 at theaters. Haven’t seen any of the newer ones.

I saw the first Star Wars at the Robert E Lee theater which was located just North of where Murphys used to be at the end of University Shopping center. Dad brought me and my cousin to see it. We both loved it.
Nerd alert: I started collecting Star Wars cards shortly after. Much like baseball cards, they came in a pack w gum. Would love to have them now. They are probably worth something.

I saw the FIRST Star Wars when I was 13 at Tinseltown in Shreveport. Episode one, The Phantom Menace! I was mesmerized by the fact that this many adults would dress up for a movie and clap after such an average movie.
A few years later a friend talked me into watching the originals so I borrowed his DVDs and watched all three. I enjoyed them ok.
Good memories.

First memory of SW was around 83 when I was five years old and my parents had just gotten HBO when the first film premiered in Feb that year. I believe that was the first time SW had been shown on TV. Later that year I saw Return of the Jedi at Cortana mall before even seeing Empire Strike Back on VHS in 84.

I will add as an afterthought,
Younger generations don’t realize how unavailable movies were for repeat viewing.
You either saw it in the theatre (multiple times if you enjoyed it) or you were sol.
And if you were really young you were at the mercy of your parents, much like radio stations.
I remember after Empire, there was a buzz for Revenge of the Jedi, but back then it was word of mouth or through fan magazines, novels, and tidbits. You could never re-hash earlier movies and break things downs like you can today

I think back to when I was a kid and we had a computer that was completely useless because literally none of us knew how to use it properly and probably cost as much as a used Cadillac.

I saw the movie at a drive-in in Alexandria maybe a year or two after it came out. My Dad had seen it months earlier and took us all to see it - I must have been 7 or 8 years old. I think I was scared to see it because of Darth Vader. After that, I got into getting all of the action figures - I even got the Boba Fett that you had to mail in for. I was primed for when Empire came out.

I became a Star Wars nut by the time Empire came out.
I probably have everyone beat here. I have a theater that contains every star wars figure, ship and playset from all 3 original movies. I have most figures still on original cardbacks as well. It's as glorious as it sounds.
