The previews for next week show her coming face-to-face with Nymeria. Nymeria is leading a pack in the river lands. I don't think arya can keep a necessary low profile in kings landing with a pack of wolves at her side. She'll hark back to the conversation with the soldiers about going home and struggle with what to do. Jon will be heading south to dragonstone, and Arya will arrive in Winterell around the same time as Bran while Sansa and Jon make it to dragonstone.

My prediction on that. I just don't know why they would even reintroduce Nymeria if she wasn't going to be at Arya's side for a while, and Arya can't stroll into kings landing with a 400 pound dire wolf

For Cersei the greatest way for her to die would be her fleeing the Red Keep with Tyrion ridng a dragon chasing behind and yelling remember that time I was a baby.

She's going to die like the mad king IMO. Jamie will kill her to stop her from killing everyone

Because she's the female equivalent of the Mad King at this point.

Mad king would never be forced to walk naked in the street while being called names, spit on, and having shite thrown at while crying. Cersei had a nice little victory blowing up the sept but let's not get wild here.

I think this is the way it will end as well. The walls are about to start closing in on her from all directions

the books heavily imply that there are children in the riverlands near that lake. there may not be time left to flesh out the "why" of the walkers coming south, it may be best just to leave it as "winter is coming"...

but it would be cool to see the leaf people again

She's more like 17 now.

And what would she have to be tense about? No one knows what she's done, and she can probably kill any of the soldiers.

The Mad King wouldn't have given the 7 all that power like she did.

I wonder if people will still say the show is predictable when Jamie dies before Cersei?

Unless Maggie's prophecy was for nothing Arya will not be the one to kill Cersei so, unless I'm forgetting something, they'd just be wasting time sending her to King's Landing.

I think the meeting with the soldiers was a moment to slow down her vengeance train. They spent a lot of time talking about their families and being caught up in someone else's war. I hope it's a literal turning point and she decides to go home instead.

That scene was weird Guess it was supposed to humanize Lannister sympathizers

Eh... I saw it differently, more as humanizing Arya. We've seen her taking names and killing enemies to her, but she has chosen to stay against those enemies and not expand the list. Certainly she'd be fully justified in slaughtering Lannister men, but she chose not to. She has changed a lot, but she is still the same soft hearted little girl that was traveling with the hound through it all.

you don't know what's tense about a girl by herself coming across a gaggle of Lannister soldiers in the woods?

I guess you would just have the immediate worry they'd rape you, kill you and/or steal everything from you...like a lot of soldiers in westeros would.

Very true. As I said, we know very little about the Night King at this point. It could be all of the above, some of the above, or something else entirely.

I actually kind of like the idea that this is basically a WMD run amuck. The idea that ramifications of the war between the Children and the First Men could last this long ties a lot with the themes in AFFC about the lords not understanding the implications of their wars for the common folk.

It also be interesting or ironic if all the Night's King wanted to was to kill the Children at the Isle of the Faces. At the same time that also just makes it seem like all the men could just stand aside and let him do his business. So I think there would have to be more to it than that.

Exactly. I think Nymeria's pack has a part to play in the war. Remember, it's huge.

quote:

In all my years the biggest pack I ever saw had fewer than a dozen wolves in it, but the great pack that prowls along the Trident now numbers in the hundreds."

quote:

They say the pack is led by a monstrous she-wolf, a stalking shadow grim and grey and huge.

I think it is more likely that the meeting with the Lannisters and subsequently Nymeria causes Arya to want to return to her pack and her home.
