It sucks when you see The Sopranos and The Wire put out 13 full hours a season. That said, with the large cast and numerous locations, it has to be difficult. So difficult that they have said they won't be able to get 10 done next year.

Hell, I remember being peeved that S6 of The Shield was only ten episodes.
I'm not thrilled at all about the final seasons being shorter than the ones so far.

That was a compromise, IIRC. Season 6 was supposed to be the back half of Season 5 and maybe bleed over to the "final" season (originally intended to finish after 6 seasons). FX made the call to make those 10 episodes "Season 6" - for both their airing schedule, but also to boost DVD sales, which had been significant for The Shield.
Remember when you bought DVD sets of the season after it aired, so you could binge before the next season?

Looking at that, I can just about guarantee in the next 4 years there will be one hell of an offensive lineman who will have the nickname "Hodor". Seriously, imagine a 3rd and 10 play, and the whole stadium shouting in unison "Hold the Door!" repeatably.

What's the run time on this episode?? The past 2-3 episodes were 60ish minutes.

Well, if it's true that there are only 13 episodes after this season, that means there is only a total of 18 episodes left in the series.
There is a lot of material to cover, so it should be 18 solid episodes of serious shite going down.
