re: Volleyball Schedule and News

Huge season for Coach Reed.
Alabama HAS to show some form of breaking through to the next level (average to above average), after four seasons of the cellar.
To her credit, she was handed probably the biggest build job in the conference outside of Vanderbilt (who literally began their program last year). Alabama Volleyball, thanks to Bama Soccer's break out 2022 season, probably has the least amount of prestige or history of any team sport at the Capstone...... but four years enough.
This team is all her athletes and she's had ample time to build her program, The Tide needs to finish mid-table or higher in the SEC, or Greg Byrne will need to start looking at other candidates.
That said, the trajectory is slow, but upwards, 2 win improvement per season.
2023. 1 SEC win
2024. 3 SEC wins
2025. 5 SEC wins
2026. ?

I'd be fine with UAB being limited to FCS.
Hell, it would give us a dog in that fight, which would be kind of cool.

I'm still slightly in World Cup mode..... but BAMA vs ECU.... thank goodness it's at home, I'd hate to play in Andes Mountain altitude.

Maybe it's just because I think his name is the coolest.... but watching his film.... I think more folks should include the name "Major Ogilvie" alongside Musso, Alexander, Ingram and Henry.
He has the accolade to back it up, 2 natties, 3 SEC rings, team captain and Sugar Bowl MVP.

2002, UGA comes calling on Dennis Franchione and the high flying, but probation saddled, Crimson Tide.
This was not only my first game to watch in Tuscaloosa, but my first year really grasping the whole "College Football" as a second year pop warner veteran, haha. Been to countless game since, ups and downs, but that first one is still vividly in my mind, the hustle and bustle of GameDay in town, the feeling that hey, maybe this sanctions thing won't be so bad.
Had NO IDEA this has been uploaded for about a year.
My god how can something feel just like yesterday and 100 years ago?
What is your first Bama game memory? And is it on youtube too?

2026-2027 will have a high bar to meet in terms of the Iron Bowl.
Alabama sports DOMINATED the Tigers last year, dropping only their Tennis matchups and a Women's Volleyball and Basketball game, one of the best overall showings in a decade.

51 days after the 2025-26 ended in Omaha with Bama Baseball, we have survived all of July and now a new campaign begins!
The Lady Soccer Elephants headed to Baton Rouge for the first exhibition vs Pre-Season #16 LSU. The game was actually an unlucky tie for the Tide as they had a game-winning goal called offside.
Curious Note: While we all know Football still has to wait until September 5th, Alabama Volleyball, weeks away from the NCAA season opener, has still not released their non-conference schedule.

College Football 27 players..... how long do we need to go undefeated to reach #1?

Growing up hearing bedtime stories about Bear Bryant and then getting to expeirence the whole Saban era.... it feels surreally aware that we're likely in another transition period.
I hope I'm wrong and that KDB can build a monster again, but I feel like football gods aren't going to bestow us another Golden Era for another generation or so, wouldn't be fair to everyone else, haha. Again, I'd love to be wrong.
With a 12 team playoff now, hell anything is possible.
Crazy fact, if there was a 12 team playoff before Nick, Mike Friggin Shula would have just narrowly missed a spot in 2005..... and Dennis Franchione would have had us dancing in 2002 if not for probation.

ikr, we might have been fighting God today. He clearly wants Tech to win this year.

This is cleary Murph's fault. Look at Texas Tech. It's obviously the winning technique to pull your pitcher ever other inning and berate them.

Alabama Softball and 2012 is becoming a microcosm of England and 1966.

True. We are reaching the point of his backwards career trajectory where he rejoins the NFL.

All I know.... is the Lane Kiffin experience inevitably ends with the whole home stadium chanting to fire him.

Lol, Alabama is so in the black more than 99% of other programs. We more than have the luxury of supporting the teams we have, in fact, I think sports like Soccer, Gymnastics are in need of facility upgrades, with Volleyball and Tennis next in line.
