Fair enough and the stories may be diverging books to television, further complicating it. My evidence for the "immediate" blowback is that they (The Others/White Walkers) are first reported in the histories of men during the Long Night - a war in which the First Men and CotF joined forces to fight them.
Now, if they had been a helpful ally in the war against the invading First Men for "hundreds" or "thousands" of years prior to the Long Night, there is absolutely no record of it in the books or series. That is why I draw the inference of "immediate" - they did it (made the first "Other") and then realized they dun goofed.

Hell, the fact that since the Knight's King being able to be killed with dragons glass because he was created by dragon glass was discussed in the thread after the episode aired.
But it seems a bit anticlimactic that the NK could only be killed by dragon glass, something that there is a hell of a lot more of than VS or dragon fire.

Of course it's not possible. The script for the last season hasn't even been written yet.

Yea, that was the first thing I thought of as soon as those words came out of his mouth. You live on islands inhabited by a seafaring people for hundreds of years. Do you really think there's enough trees remaining on said islands to building 1000 ships.

I was more concerned with how are they going to build said "thousand ships" in a quick enough time to catch up to Theon and Yara. Especially Yara, is more than capable as a captain with a fleet.

No, you and a few others read articles on yahoo and stuff on reddit and come here and post it as your own...don't make me link the article that came out this week...your bs is almost word for word and you're passing it off as your own. Pretty hilarious.
What? Maybe I'm confused but we've debating in some of these threads what can kill what (Dragonglass vs. Valyrian Steel) in these threads and the Crackpot Thread for a long time. And came up with that without an article rehashing it. Just in general discussion in what's came up in the books.
Am I missing something?
ETA: It wouldn't really be a stretch to think after watching the episode where he was created with what appears to be Dragonglass either. I'm pretty sure my SO turned to me when we saw/rewound it and said "So I wonder if he can only be killed with dragonglass since it looks like he was made by it?".

So how do you guys think Jons parentage will be revealed to him?
I dunno..... I've always thought that there is evidence somewhere buried in the Citadel in Old Town and that Sam will find it and bring it back with him. Jon may get word before then from others, but I doubt he'll believe them. Sam will bring the evidence that proves it...for Jon and the seven kingdoms.

I mean a boat takes at least two to five months to finish (maybe 7 or 8 depending on level of technology, availability of materials, and especially craftsmen). Even if you were able to start construction in all one thousand ships in parrallel immediately, Yara and Theon should be to Danny by the time they are launched.
On top of that, Theon and Yara should have a major portion of the competent seamen on the island. Who is going to crew all of these boats?
I hope there is some plot reveal here rather than a thousand boats coming from nowhere.

I thought that as well. I've been wondering if Euron has some magic going on. Didn't balon ask how he looks so young?
Posted on 5/27/16 at 2:41 pm to putt23
Well from a book perspective he definitely has some magic. I'm not sure that magic extends to conjuring 1000 ships. If it does, then why do people need to start building ships?
Posted on 5/27/16 at 2:43 pm to MardiGrasRazorback
Its pretty easy. Bran or Howland Reed will tell him.

It's a completely different story now, though. In the books, Euron sends Victarion off - and Victarion thinks he's going to flip on Euron once he's in Mereen. The series has this adversarial from the beginning and it's just a different story. Yara/Theon are taking the place of Victarion.
"Asha" (Yara) was in the Stannis' storyline in the books and Theon remains with Faux Arya, the last time we saw him (at least pre-leaked chapters).

That's why I said "from a book perspective" just reciting what we know from the books. I have no clue where D&D are going with this story for show purposes.

I retract my statement. My bad...I thought you were trying to spoil something...I apologize.
That being said, it is a very good theory.

Interesting theory - assuming that first White Walker IS the Night King in the series - I have an additional corollary to that theory:
If Jon, as TPTWP, somehow kills him, it kills ALL the remaining WWs and the wights. It will be a desperate duel for all the marbles - IMHO.

So this episode is apparently going to be another short one (as is the one after).

We better start seeing the assembly of the Wilding Army and Jon marching South his vengeance rampage.

How hard is it to just give us 10 full hours?
