Thanks, Egg, but twice was enough. I hate violence against women, so the addition of them stabbing Talisa in the stomach, plus the portrayal of Cat's pain (Emmy worthy) made it even worse than the book for me.

Yeah, I was wondering what the Dornish would look like ethnically as well...
...So they could either go the Spanish/Italian/Greek/Mediterranean route or the Middle Eastern route it seems?
Oded Fehr would be awesome. I loved him in The Mummy.
Several people on IMDb made topics about how they pictured him as Oberyn while reading. I think he makes more sense than James Purefoy, who IMO looks too European to be Oberyn.
No clue who they'll cast for Arianne or the Sand Snakes. Emmanuelle Chiriqui is too old to be Arianne IMO. Francia Raisa would be the appropriate age/look, although I am not sure of her acting skills since she's known for being on ABC Family shows

I picture them more Mediterranean than Arab. The Slave cities seem like the Middle East.
I like Oded Fehr but I'd like to see someone with a little more swag than him.

That would be pretty spot on, IMO.

He was badass in the Mummy. I think he could pull Oberyn off.
Googling Arianne Martell casting suggestions...people are suggesting actresses who would've been perfect 10 years ago who are too old now, i.e. Michelle Rodriguez, Emannuelle Chriqui, Janina Gavankar...they're all in their mid to late 30's. I think Freida Pinto is too Indian looking/not Mediterranean but is the appropriate age. That's why I thought Francia Raisa had the right look even though she's Hispanic and is only 24 (Arianne is 23), just not sure if she would have the acting chops to be on GoT though.

He didn't look like the scion of one of the most ancient Roman lines either but his smug and menacing Antony was unforgettable. Its a longshot though.
But I have a lot of confidence in HBO's casting. If they bring in an unknown, he's likely to knock it out of the park. Its a great role for someone.

So do we get Un-Cat to close the next episode or beginning of next season?
I don't think they're combining Meereen and Yunkai, they HAVE to slow Dany down. Both cities sport a Harpy. The distinction of the fighting pits is huge, they will make a big deal of them.
Jon and Ghost reunion next episode for some feels?
Where the frick is Coldhands? Gotta be a finale closer, right? Between Coldhands and UnCat, thats a bunch of WTF post brutality, but I think they can handle it.
Mhysa will definitely have Dany leading her "people" out towards Meereen.
Martells will definitely be next season.

I think UnCat will be the open to next season.

Martells will be episode 1 of season 4 for sure.

I feel like this story line is going to bore a lot of the non-readers.

a big part of the viewer's investment in a show is caring if they live or die. when too many people return from the dead, it makes the consequences of their actions less severe and less interesting

Well. Beric Dondarion has to die for Cat to come back, so there is a trade off there.

shite bored me
It amazes me how much some of hodors miss. They don't think Jon is going back to the wall, he told them he was still a crow.

Arianne better be the hottest chick on the show.

I'd have it be the end of the next season. Have Stoneheart mentioned from time to time, and then at the end of the season, bam!

Doubt it, again closer to the end of Season 4.

I'm thinking they won't run into Coldhands until Season 4.

Agreed. Besides the oberyn vs Mt battle, the Martells are boring as shite to me. I don't see them just diving in after one of the viewers favorite characters dies like Robb did.

This really isn't a big deal but wasn't the warg wildling still alive in the book for the intro of dance?
Posted on 6/3/13 at 10:30 am to Dire Wolf
I'm thinking he died at some point and went into the eagle prior to the eagle attacking Jon. Then Mel kills the eagle with some firey fire magic.

Six Skins was the warg in the book for most of what Orel is doing in the show
Posted on 6/3/13 at 10:34 am to shinerfan
In the book, the eagle attack happened before Jon went over the wall. Mance asked him about it. Also, that was Sixskins' eagle, and in the book, Sixskins didn't go over the wall with Jarl and Jon.
