What will be the epic season ending moment?

Season 1 was Dany with the Dragons.

Season 2 was the White Walker army.

Season 3?

Hmm. Good question. Looking at those, it seems like the things that have in common are 1) They are visually impressive and 2) they involve elements of the supernatural.

If they follow form, I'd have to agree with the above poster that both Lady Stoneheart and Coldhands would be good contenders.

If they change it, I think Ygritte in Jon's arms (as she dies) would be pretty powerful.

I'd also like to see Balon Greyjoy take his swan dive this episode though it doesn't have to be season ending. I still have a soft place in my heart for the non readers and I would hope that seeing the first two leach-names bite it would give them some hope that House Lannister is not just going to easily triumph over everyone.

I am still holding out hope for pw, I know it isn't likely but it would be great.

It would be a great ending to the season. I will be kind of upset if there is no Coldhands. Someone has to tell Sam to find Bran and lead him through the black gate. Don't tell me Sam is just going to go "hey you're Jon Snow's brother...let me let you through this gate to your doom and never tell Jon I met you"

Also, Someone has to protect Bran from the wights and I don't think Meera and Summer can do it.

PW is not going to happen this season. Next season will be the Lannister's time for pain. Joff and Tywin.

I really just wish we had 2 or three more episodes this season. Get all the kings deaths out of the way and mix the end of storm with a little of 4/5 next season. Getting ball moving on some of the more boring story's

Agreed. Besides the oberyn vs Mt battle, the Martells are boring as shite to me. I don't see them just diving in after one of the viewers favorite characters dies like Robb did.

Yeah I didn't like any of the Martell chapters in the books. It seemed forced and that GRRM just decided to add another family into the mix for shits and giggles.

I hope they don't show Balon's death this season. If he dies then everyone will know what happens to Joff. I wish they would save both and show them about the same time if not Joff first. I want it to be a surprise also.

What? The were a huge part of the backstory from day one (with the sister of the Martells married to Rhaegar, and dornish Kingsguard fighting Ned), and one of the major kingdoms. Not like they were just going to be left out of the story forever when all out war is going on. And Tyrion didn't send one of Cersei's kids to them for marriage only for them to be never spoken of again. It would have been completely unrealistic for them not to be part of the mix.

Coldhands maybe, but Ygritte dying is my guess.

They may even combine the Battle of the Wall with Ygritte's death, though I guess she is on the wrong side of the wall

why are folks so convinced the honeypot theory is dead?

I think she was killed first because she was knocked up. can't have any stark babies around.

sort of like ser jorah.. sent to be a spy but flipped to the other team. maybe there will be dialogue between tywin and Bolton at some point revealing the truth.

because it was a bad theory to begin with. only thing that gave it legs was her knowing the words when getting married but that wedding was so butchered I'll. just chalk it up to bad writing

I'm going with Coldhands or the Wildling Army showing up at the base of the wall (with all the giants and everything) as the final episodes of each season thus far have been big reveals, not shocking twists.

PW & Tyrion's revenge will definitely be next season. No idea how they hold off on killing Joff for 9 episodes, but they may hold out and use Tywin & Shae for that particular episode. Tyrion killing Shae would make for a pretty earth-shaking moment if they go back to building up their relationship (or at least his love for her, maybe telling the story of his first wife a little before the episode).

I could see the wedding being the first episode, the reception (complete with the pig-n-dog act) being the second with Joff choking at the end and Tyrion left holding the chalice.

Just my 2cp.

i don't think it's dead. killing a potential heir that could motivate the North to keep the rebel force intact is more important than keeping a spy around

Because killing her would put the alleged alliance in jeopardy. With her still alive in the books, she could then be married off to someone thus giving the step-father of the child Lord Regent status over the North. Now though, they have shite.

Granted, there's still Sansa but now (book-wise) that Jon Snow seems to be throwing the rule book out for the Night's Watch, he could be viewed as a possibly greater heir to the North.
