This is exactly what I said throughout the book. I didn't really like Ned in the book because I wanted to scream at him.

FWIW, here is a timeline of the events leading up to "A Song of Fire and Ice."

Timeline

It's a quick read and gives a short historical perspective on how the Seven Kingdoms came to be prior to A Game of Thrones.

Is all of that mentioned over the course of the books? Did the actual author write that?

A lot of the history comes from the hedge knight novellas. The older history comes from some of Dany's chapters across the narrow sea. It all come from grrm but in different places.

A lot of people predicted a downturn in ratings this week because of the holiday weekend and HBOGo thing, but ratings stayed EXACTLY the same as the previous week (and I don't think that includes HBOGo views).

On a holiday weekend, that's a good thing.

Let's hope the finale gets good ratings and DVD sales are solid, so we get a very highly rated Season 2 premiere and they greenlight Season 3 for more than 10 episodes.

I think you'll want to be in this thread after Episode 8 or 9, actually. Just a hunch.

I know I wasn't expecting your hunch to occur when I read it.

Just a bit of mindless trivia. Not sure if it has already been posted, but the kid who plays Joffrey is actually the scared kid from the end of Batman Begins. The one who Katie Holmes saves.

If they end with the same scene as the book then I think it will be great.

I hope they do. I'm interested to see how they portray it.

yea they are going to have to end it with that, something good and upbeat to get people to watch the next part.

Even more useless trivia part 2:

The kid that plays Robert Arryn (the sickly kid sucking on Catelyn Stark's sister's boob) plays Russel Brand's son Naples in Get Him to the Greek.

Is it true what the guide says and that it won't be on TV until 11 PM central time?
