Whenever this show gets mentioned on here, I always make sure to sing its praises. I didn’t love the first three or four episodes, I almost gave up, but once it got past that point, the show just found its groove and was always awesome. I loved the ending, it made me go read Treasure Island. Definitely a top five show all time for me.

Yorke’s confidence is shot right now. He’s not looking for 1 pitch to hit, he’s looking to get up there and walk.

100%

A random person pulled from the crowd would’ve had the same chance at getting a hit as Yorke tonight.

ETA: and they might’ve even swung at a few pitches.

re: Air fried ribs

I’ve made them three or four times now, and I think they’re kind of cool. They resemble nothing like actual barbecue ribs, the texture is more like pork chops than slow cooked meats, but if you want ribs in 20 minutes, they’re pretty great for a weeknight rib.

All the internet recipes are pretty dead on, cook somewhere between 380 deg to 400 deg for 18 or 20 minutes, sauce them, put them back in there for another five minutes, and you’ll be good to go.
I love both. LotF is the highest quality of soap opera. It’s the more rewatchable of the two. ARRTI is like art.

Imagine a scenario where you enter in some parameters (Subject, setting / era, length, etc.) and a customized movie is created for you.

I absolutely think this is the future. It’ll be like the scene when Marty goes to his future house in Back to the Future II…he sees his son walk into the house, and just yells out six channels he wants to watch. Back in the 80’s, we were all “could you even imagine?” In like a decade, it’ll be normal to walk into your house on Friday night, and tell Siri you want a Fincher style murder mystery, set in 1970’s NYC, starring Tom Cruise, etc…

We can already tell AI to give us Stephen Hawking fighting Helen Keller on Monday Night Raw. I don’t see how personalized movies aren’t gonna be the norm.
I’ve always thought Landa let them live because it would’ve been a worse punishment to make LaPadite clean up the bodies than to do anything else to him and his family.

Cuz that’s what he always did. He was a gambling addict. It’s kinda why she left him.

Think this exact line is in Blood Meridian.

Why is this anchored?
Based on the pics this morning, thought it was gonna be Chalamet. That guy’s no Chalamet.
I saw this movie in theaters knowing nothing about it, just went because a friend wanted to go. I always think it’s cool that I just stumbled into seeing arguably the best action movie of all time.

Yeah did that guy just go insane on live tv?
If you’re gonna tell me a cheap brown and Coke doesn’t taste good, I’ll call you a liar.

Can’t help you, man. I barely made it through the first one. I just wanted to post the Pitch Meeting about the series.

“…each one ends with an ‘ent’ sound… which is fun, and not at all forced.“

Could Jayden Danns be a stud? He just looks like he has it.
I’m about a third of the way thru it. It’s a harsh, beautifully written slog.

It’s just lame to root for teams with stacked rosters.

I like rooting for LSU, and they’re usually pretty stacked. You’re welcome to have your grievance, I get on the outside looking in, rooting for LFC is like rooting for any other big market team, but tell me a more likable coach than Klopp, or a team that’s more fun to watch than Liverpool.

Im sure there’s a quiet dignity in rooting for a lesser team, and as a Saints fan, I respect that too.
