Was a little bit slower of an episode than previous couple, still good tho. Was glad to see all the people get in one room to talk it out, of course they didn’t get anything figured out tho before it devolved into a shouting match.

Hate to see Victor get side tracked with his Dad right when he was on a mission to remember what he knows.

Coco, I was super confused reading your post not realizing you were taking notes as the episode went along. When you said I hope Dale dies soon I was like

It's stream of consciousness type posts because I text myself shite as the episode goes along since I don't live-post in here (and nobody else does). It's just more to get my thoughts down "on paper" and to hopefully spark discussion in here.
quote:

I thought it was pretty predictable that Dale was going to be in that pool after going through the tree (maybe it wasn't as predictable as I thought because my wife never thought that)

You predicted Dale would end up in the pool dying? How in the hell did you come up with that on your own?
quote:

but I'm stuck on the Tabitha thing. I've seen some people say she sees the two twins up there, but I don't think she would have that type of reaction towards them.

The only thing I was thinking was that maybe somehow it's a version of Thomas that the town is fricking with her on. Or maybe even like a recreation of him rolling off the table and dying or something like that. It seemed like a pretty visceral reaction from her. Can't wait to see what it is.

Maybe 2/6/59? Some of those monsters look old-timey.

Okay, so this is my note from the previous page about the bottle tree numbers:
quote:

- Boyd and Sara traveled out further than anybody before and found the bottle tree. The bottles had paper messages in them, and Boyd found one dating back to 1864 meaning this place has existed for a long arse time. And I found this in a discussion online with other dates: ",,,numbers scratched into the stone. -1506, 1864, 1609, 1752, 1931, 1883, 1978, 1672, and one more year I can't quite make out." ETA: new number from the trees: 2659.

So using the m/d/y date format for the numbers doesn't really make much sense either unless they were literally all within a few days in January. But at least it's feasible.

Everytime I watch this show, I get scared they are going to cancel it & live the rest of my life never having the answers to any of this shite.

A couple ways, one they've been laying it on heavy with him. Really making you not like the guy. So with that I figured he wasn't making it long. Then in the trailer for this previous episode they had him saying "where's the tree" and "I've had it." So I figured he was going through that tree. And lastly, they showed a few shots of the pool with Boyd and Donna looking distraught. It was all just kind of putting two and two together.

Ah, yeah. You just mean "in the pool" in general. They very clearly foreshadowed his death for sure, but I thought you meant that he would literally be a part of the pool as in he's in the concrete itself.

Oh no, definitely not. I'd be playing the lottery if so

I thought he would fall out of the sky like that rock did back in S1 that Victor put in one of the trees

I know it was supposed to be a shocking scene, but the visual of Dale trapped in the concrete like one of those old cartoons who splats against a brick wall was super funny to me.

The Victor reunion scene was really well done. Definitely got a little misty.

I love in the cafe how Victor’s dad was about to start explaining what he and Tabitha did in the real world and those moronic shite hats just cut him off. “HERE COMES TABITHA!” Like, yall been asking for answers and he’s trying to explain what happened and it triggers immediate buffoonery.

I’m starting to get concerned that we’re halfway through the third season and we still don’t have any actual answers to any of the questions the show has introduced. Instead of resolving anything they just add more questions to decipher. For anyone that watched LOST was that a similar style? That nothing could be resolved into one big reveal at the very end?

I can’t think of one thing the show has actually resolved.

Oh boy, that's a loaded question that may deserve its own thread.

That the monsters don't just kill anything they get their hands on; they also torment and will leave someone alive to mindfrick others (and they also set traps).
That the monsters can be killed (along with an autopsy of a monster).
That some parts of the town are good/helpful (kids, boy in white, bottle tree, visions, etc.).
That the faraway trees work and the bottle tree gets you to the lighthouse.
What the symbol was that Jade (and Christopher) kept seeing over and over.
That Tabitha actually did leave.
How to get out of that place (the lighthouse with the kids).
That you can leave and return.
That the town is actually tethered to the real world in some way (i.e. Victor's dad being able to arrive and he and Victor have aged).
The food problem got solved with the fruits/veggies that Jim/Kenny found.

That's off the top my my head and just in the last 8-10 episodes.

So I think I figured out the numbers:

1597 was Victor’s home address in the real world. It’s kind of a red herring but also a clue.

I think the numbers in the bottle represent the number of steps measured from the tree to a specific place in the Magic town. We see Victor measuring everyone and writing down the step count constantly.

The numbers also line up with the step map Victor created (according to Reddit)

So the bottles are possible destinations on the bottle tree. If you enter with a number: Tabitha entered in with 1597 on Victor’s lunch box, it sends you to where you can go to get to 1597 (the lighthouse).

If you enter in with another number, you got to that “step location” in the direction of the bottle from the tree.

Hence the name FROM. It is where you are starting from.

Dale went in with nothing and it was random.

One of my favorite theories that I have heard is the baby inside of Fatima was conceived by the monsters to form some sort of new monster that is not effected by the talisman's, and that there is potentially already a plant within the town, possibly monster or not.
that was my initial thought the moment ol girl started eating that rotten food and thought it was delicious. The only thing that makes that possible is that baby growing inside of her. She was a normal character before her pregnancy.

New bottle tree date/number: 2659. WTF...I guess that throws the "these are dates" angle out the window??
I have the same reaction here as I did to Tabitha acting like that couldn’t be a date

2/6/1959? These monsters all look like they’re from the 1950s anyway. Didn’t seem like a stretch at all to me those numbers could be dates

or locked in concrete in an abandoned pool to die. Don’t think there’s any answers on how those trees work at all yet and that’s all they had to get them back to reality. Back to square one there

We finally got to see the tunnel, which was nice and creepy. Lame ending - I was hoping to see Jasper come alive before they rolled the credits.

Nice little scene with Jade and the dead dude. Is there something to all the numbers or not? I may give up if we don't find anything out by the end of the season.

I’m trying to pay more attention to details and jot down certain things. There aren’t very many things in this show out there by accident.

I had a nightmare.
You want to talk about it?
No.
…..
I should have done more…
#womenbeshoppin

This fight between Jim and Tabitha doesn’t make much sense. And then Jim disappears for the rest of the episode to get food.”

Julie: I’m just glad some things are finally getting back to normal.

The way Jade says “that would allow her to get..FROM the lighthouse in the woods to Camden, Maine.”

So the bottle tree Boyd and Sara found isn’t the same tree?? Not sure I realized that before now.

And numbers match (1864). Holy shite. We may be getting somewhere.

Fatima, why the frick would you not want to go see the closest thing to a doctor the town has?

Donna, just dump the wheelbarrow of rocks into the pool instead of tossing them down one by one.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that nobody is interested in Jade and the numbers. They should be dedicating town meetings to brainstorming that shite.

So the numbers are the same and the two trees match. Differences: placement and the second tree has them in cursive. And some numbers repeat numerous times.

Jade called them dates.

So the monsters collect shite from the town and the people they kill? Victor: “They like to take things….they just do.”

So Jasper told Christopher a story about this place once. Key to what/where/when it is?

The Henry/Victor scenes tug at me a good bit. The dad is a good actor.

So Fatima isn’t pregnant but she thinks there’s something inside of her. And then Elgin sees the ghost lady in her picture. And then the ghost lady says she can help them get home.

Backwards 2s and backwards 7s in the tree numbers.

“Did it have three red stones….in a circle?” Three points don’t make a circle, Tabitha.

So Tabitha saw this place in her dreams before she for there just like Miranda did. Interesting.

I’m trying to figure out what the pale kids mean. They terrify her but also she’s trying to help them. At this point I am leaning toward them being good/helpful but that’s TBD. Jade thinks they won’t harm her, I assume because he encountered them in the caves with the symbol.

Wonder why Julie and Randall are walking around the woods next week and visiting the old church (?) where they were captured.

I’m not sure why people are mad at this show. It feels like this season is giving us tons of information in little tidbits at a time. If it can land the season finale and connect some dots to advance things this show will be on track to please the frick out of me.

This episode was a waste.

You can’t just, at the end, suddenly drop a random memory of a nightmare Tabitha had and say “oh I saw this place too”

Scenes hinting at a random girl by red stones should have been sprinkled throughout this season making us question what that meant only for Tabitha to drop the bomb on us

Aside from Jade and Victor, I’m pretty much rooting for the monsters that this point.
