Hardly the first time they have tried to drop a bridge on MJ.
Quesada, while editor in chief, pushed the One More Day storyline where Peter and MJ sold off their marriage ever happening to Mephisto (one of the Marvel universe devils) to keep Aunt May alive.
To call that an unpopular storyline with the fan base is an understatement.

This isn't being "woke", it's what happens when you spend decades over-milking a cash cow. For decades he's had multiple books running at the same time (at one point I think there were 4 separate Spiderman comics in print at the same time, and that's not counting guest appearances). You can kill off Aunt May, face the reborn Green Goblin or have some clone/symbiote issue only so many times before people demand something new.
Well... that is... unless you push back to only one title or -gasp!- retire the character for a while.

And thus the real issue with where all of the comic books have gone in the last 30 years...abandoning the illusion of change in favor of wholesale sweeping changes to move the characters forward. It's poison either way for characters that are not supposed to really have anything lasting happen to them.

But I do feel, since you’ve admitted you are not the source for a lot of your points and opinions, it leaves opportunities for you to not have detailed answers or reasoning. Maybe become an expert before going on a rampage next time. Using details on BOTH sides can help you make your conclusions. And not everyone here knows where you’re looking.
So believe what you want, but understand you have taken belief a step further and are attempting to spread your beliefs. Whatever your purpose, if you have intentions on having conversations about the subject, you should do these things. Or what is the point of even starting the thread?

First of all, remove fear from the equation. It has more to do with disappointment, anger, and frustration. Because all of this is so petty and unnecessarily being done to promote a specific agenda. That’s what so many people are refusing to se are or just not getting. It isn’t the deleting of a side character, it’s the manner in which it’s being done.
What most people don’t understand is that many of these writers absolutely despise their fans. This myth of everyone coming together to enjoy the art of making a comic, shows, or a movies where fans and creators exist in some form of harmony is mostly pure fiction.
Then add the extra ingredient of wokism into the equation. The cult of the left have fully infected the entertainment world and there isn’t a thing that is produced by these people that isn’t hell-bent on promoting their agenda. About their only creative energy is dreaming up ways to screw up that which already exists. Nothing else.

I want to verify. Your issue with this stems from your belief that the left has been effects comic books and injecting woke ideology into them. That too many people are brushing it aside instead of focusing on what a political group is doing to a semi mainstream entertainment venue.
