Well those fans keep buying their comic books and making companies like Marvel richer and richer.
So maybe fans aren’t really that pissed off and it’s just non comic book fans like you that make politics your identity and have to find something to be angry about in everything

They are. The base of those who bought comic books continues to shrink. Manga, on the other hand, is doing extremely well. Not the same thing.
And I'm not merely looking for things to piss me off. I'm reacting to THEIR forcing politics into everything. Not just pop culture, but REAL history as well. (See whining about whiiiiite supremacists and The Northman)

Mile Morales isn't even 'woke'. He's not Spiderman, yet he's still a very good adaptation of another version. No one had to be demoted or erased for Miles' story to be told.
For the 27th time, it seems, it's the REASON they're doing this.

Hey, I get it. It isn’t a fun subject either way. But if it doesn’t concern you or you don’t care, why bother posting in this thread at all? There are dozens of threads I completely stay out of because I haven’t seen the shows or don’t care about what goes on in them.
But this current fad of tearing down old characters simply because the current group of writers and creators lack any imagination needs to be addressed. Comic book sales are tanking, which is fine by me. But it also affects TV shows and movies as well. I never played the Witcher, yet it’s clear that season two is far less talked about than season one. I can pick from any of a dozen shows / movies which are failing because of the same cult like adherence to all different/all better… and most of it comes from the push to diversify in all areas.
So, no. This isn’t just about a fictional side character in a comic book. It is far bigger than that
