funny that there exists a person that's this adamenet about defending Michael Bay.

The guy is talentless, money-grabbing a-hole, and everyone that is not a fricking retard knows it.

I mean really Transformers 2 is a film that you really forget about as soon as you finish it. The only thing you can really remember is how stupid it was.

As with every other time Michael Bay is mentioned, a lot of people seem to believe he writes his own scripts.

Yes, a lot of the movies he chooses turn out to be mediocre or bad mostly because of dialogue, but the guy is actually a pretty decent director. If he ever actually decided to film a good script, he could probably make a damn good movie, but as it is he seems more interested in just getting paid.

And what was the box office for GWH compared to Armageddon?

WTF does this have to do with it? I think your missing the point that his Oscar in Good Will Hunting was probably the main reason he got the role in Armageddon. Ever think if that?

The reason he has bad scripts is because he doesn't care about good scripts. Yeah, its partly on the hacks who write his movies, but it ultimately comes down to Bay's own choice. He invents millions in special effects and nothing in script. And it shows. He's not blameless for that.

but my hatred of Bay movies extends past the scripts. It's the rapid fire cutting which makes it impossible to follow the action. It makes my head hurt. Literally. Transformers caused me physical pain.

Hell, he even ruins well-written scenes with his heavy handed style. The scene in which the parents think they are catching their son masturbating is actually fairly well-written and pretty funny. And Bay doesn't trust the scene, so he makes it a joke about the robots, not the human drama.

I liked Transformers 2! Good action, hot chicks, was awesome in Imax, etc. I don't see why everyone hates on it!

The director and the lead actor are hating on it
I don't see how someone can defend it after this thread. They are basically admitting that it was a colossal fail. They also said they put the script together in like two weeks! Thats a slap in the face to anybody who pays $8 to go see a movie, him expecting his audience to be so dumb they won't complain about his rushed/jumbled mess.

But as I said, do you remember a specific action sequence vividly? I'm talking about films like Apocalypto or Inception or the Matrix. You can remember many of the action scenes from those films. None of the action is remotely memorable.

And how wasn't the film stupid. It is one of the dumbest films I've ever seen. I mean do they think the audience is so fricking stupid that the Government could cover up a battle that happened in front of millions of people?

Exactly. Hard to follow action is not good action. For instance I'd say that more or less Batman Begins is not a good action film due to the fact that the fights are rapidly shot, poorly edited, and hard to follow. But its a great dramatic film, and thats where the film works. At least Nolan in that film believed in his characters and didn't need to add the villains in every single scene he possibly could.
