I didn't care for Citizen Kane. Fully admit that it is a classic, just not for me.

It wouldn't make my top 50 either, but it is impossible to deny that it was well directed, well shot, excellent dialogue, excellent characters, and excellent themes. That means it is an artful film.

Because outside of the last 15-20 minutes, Chinatown was boring as shite.

The Grapes of Wrath was boring as shite.

Art is basically a term used for movies that are boring as shite nowadays.

As much as this may sound like a flame, I consider it a factual observation. You're a fricking dimwit whose taste is in his arse.

I didn't see Chinatown, but I actually liked Grapes of Wrath. I read the book and enjoyed that, too.

Again with the charming and mature metaphor.

Do you enjoy embarrassing yourself this way? I know its an anonymous board but you must have some pride.

By the way, Chinatown is one of the finest movies ever to come out of Hollywood. Robert Towne's script was spot on and is recognized as one of the best of all time. You really must have ADD as you have readily admitted.

I hate to get dragged back into this, but....

Do you honestly believe that anything made with a profit motive cannot be art? You realize this means that the Sistine Chapel, by this definition, is not art?

I've decided the guy is not worth having a discussion with. I'm going to try my best to ignore him. He's obviously either full of shite or just fricking around on the board.
