he recently took a huge pay cut to work with Eastwood in J. Edgar, but other than that I would say money is the last thing on his mind -

Inception: $59m

Sweet Jesus.

ETA: I heard that in addition to his $75k he made in Gilbert Grape, he got a lifetime supply of Burger Barn meals.

Robotech could be cool.

And I don't really crave big name actors for sci-fi movies. The last three had some big names like Samuel L Jackson, N Portman, and Liam Neeson and overall I thought the acting was atrocious.

Plus Connery didn't understand Lord of the Rings and thought it had a ridiculous narrative...

I'm not a fan of Dicaprio the actor but I'm a big fan of his judgment when it comes to picking which movies to do. The fact that he rejected a part in Star Wars makes complete sense assuming Lucas is still fricking things up like he did for the last three or four movies

I read somewhere that he bought the rights to the adaptation so I would think it is likely going to happen at some point.

is the big screen adaptation of the anime of the same name, Robotech.

Is it sad that I just got more excited about the possibility of a Robotech/Macross movie than the pending Star Wars movies?

I think so. They should have a screening process to participate on the Internet. Anyone could watch but you have to show that you are a fully functional life form before you you can touch anything.

Leo's loss. I'm sure the House of Mouse will manage without him.

book is great but I don't see how they are going to portray some of the "crimes" on film. extremely disturbing content.

I think you are giving Connery a frick ton of credit.

He accepted the role in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as a reactionary measure to LOTR doing so well and not understanding that role either.

After that movie flopped he retired, angrily declaring that Hollywood is run by morons.

Haven't read the book but it can't be any worse than Saw or Evil Dead or Hostel. Hollywood has shown us some fricked up stuff before.

One thing people aren't mentioning is that Connery was offered a percentage of the gross for LOTR. I don't think Disney was offering Leo that kind of money so it's really a moot point.
