This might be an unpopular take, but after watching The Lord of the Rings again, Frodo.

Sam saves Frodo from the orcs and carries his arse to Mount Doom after Frodo trusts a back stabbing Gollum over Sam, who’s been his friend the entire time, and then he has the audacity to keep the ring for himself instead of throwing it in the lava. The only reason the ring was destroyed was because his bitch arse threw Gollum into the lava fighting him for the ring. And then Sam saves his bitch arse AGAIN. And then he doesn’t even tell Sam he’s going with Bilbo to the land of the undying until he’s about to get on the boat. He’s a self-serving, whiny little bitch the entire trilogy.

You do realize that Frodo volunteers to take the ring initially, by himself, and it's because of the ring's influence that he gets worse along the way, right?

The ring is an extension of Sauron's will, and it's corrupting Frodo just like it did Bilbo and Gollum, only more quickly because Sauron is more active and working his power more and more through the ring.

Dottie Hinson A League of their Own

She quits on her team just before the start of the Championship series. Comes back just in time for the last game only to tank that game costing her team the title in order to give her sister a false sense of accomplishment.

Most luxurious accommodations at the time? Sure. Ever? lol no.
Avg accommodations on a modern cruise would blow that away

Jar Jar Binks. Starts a war, ousts a princess and votes the Republic into an Empire all the while being the most annoying character ever.

Ted Mosby

Ted spent 9 seasons painting “Uncle Barney” as a sociopath just so his kids would be okay with him trying to bang Aunt Robin, Barney’s ex-wife.

The Wedding Bride is the only thing Ted couldn’t spin because in that universe it is a real movie that his kids could go watch. So he had to tear it down.

For all we know, that movie may have been more accurate than Ted’s narrative.

Cos he was supposed to be the big bad. Jar Jar was originally written as a Sith lord, to be revealed in Ep 2. He knew exactly what he was doing.

He was retconned to be a bumbling moron. But that wasn't Lucas' intention with the character. Had Lucas chosen a different voice actor and overall conversation for the Gungans, that theme wouldn't have been abandoned, and we would have gotten a much better series of movies.

After counsulting with a Chat AI, here are the ones that I thought stuck out the most:

Glinda the Good Witch – The Wizard of Oz She knew Dorothy could go home all along but withheld that information. Why? To use her as a pawn in a magical turf war. Benevolent smile, Machiavellian strategy.

Doc Brown – Back to the Future He builds a time machine with stolen plutonium, sends a teenager into the past, and nearly erases his existence. All in the name of science.

The Mayor – Jaws Keeps the beaches open despite shark attacks. His concern for the town’s economy leads to more deaths. Not evil — just catastrophically wrong.

Daenerys Targaryen – Game of Thrones Her desire to “break the wheel” leads to mass destruction. Her descent is tragic because she believes she’s saving the world.

Jamie Dutton - Arguably the show’s most tragic figure. His need for validation and identity leads him to betray his family multiple times — leaking secrets, aligning with enemies, and even orchestrating violence. He’s not a schemer by nature; he’s a broken man trying to matter.

Dr. Beverly Hofstadter - Beverly operates with clinical detachment and weaponized intellect. Her parenting style is rooted in cold analysis, emotional neglect, and psychological experimentation — all under the guise of academic rigor. She doesn’t intend to harm Leonard, but her refusal to show affection, her constant comparisons to his more successful siblings, and her invasive psychoanalysis leave him emotionally stunted and desperate for validation

Elsa in Frozen.

She is a favorite amongst Disney Princesses but if you watch the movies, her selfish, self centered actions cause every problem in both movies. If she wasn't such a selfish bitch with a hero complex, a lot of chaos could have been avoided.

Ana is the real hero of that franchise as she saves everyones arse in both movies and is actualy a good person.

Kinda, she is a queen in a Disney movie after all.
However she has an arc so it’s a bit more complicated.

I guess the influence/power the ring has part being developed over 9+ hours of film went right over your head.

Nah. Doc is awesome, it was worth the risk. And stealing plutonium is waaaay down the line on bad things good people have done in film.

Doesn't really apply because they made her an intentional villain. Granted they spent 8 seasons building her up as the savior only to ruin that by making her a villain in the final two episodes. Hence the backlash.

Elsa and Ana's parents are also shitty in the Frozen movies, which exacerbated all of Elsa's problems

But yeah she's a good one

99% of Star Trek fans hate Michael Burnham. Everything that is terrible about new Trek can be traced back to that one character, even to the latest episodes.

Glinda the Good Witch (The Wizard of Oz): Glinda was aware from the outset that Dorothy possessed the ability to return home but chose not to disclose this information immediately, potentially influencing circumstances to facilitate the defeat of the Wicked Witch of the West.

Watney in The Martian.

Not really a villain, but an insufferable prick. Telling NASA botanists to frick themselves, shitting on Neil Armstrong. And I get it, you hate disco music. Be grateful you have something to listen to at all!

I get that half the appeal is trying to write a character trying to survive this situation, and I haven't read the book so no idea if it's a faithful adaptation, but in that movie he just came off as a colossal douchebag.
