The Omen is so much better than Blair Witch, you swines. Gregory Peck would be disgusted.

I’ll be honest I’m still mad that Silence of the Lambs beat Event Horizon. Silence is the superior film but it’s not horror. Glad Blair Witch won, always thought The Omen was overrated. Jaws is going to massacre it though and rightfully so, my favorite movie of all time.

Agreed, this whole thing sucks. Or it just shows the fine folks here have no idea about horror and that's a shame.

Jaws was always in the Action/Adventure section of my local video stores so if we didn't count SOTL, it'd be hard to count Jaws. They're both straddling the "thriller" label.

That said, I'm fine with both being in here as they both have enough horror elements to deserve inclusion.

Jaws is a true blockbuster - horror, action/adventure, drama, character study. It’s the GOAT movie.

Edit: the Jaws movies were always in the horror section of my video store, but so were the Godzilla movies.

Poltergeist & TCM are the only two movies that have ever really spooked me. Shame they had to meet here.

Scream vs The Thing in the Sweet 16 in BRUTAL. Two of my favorites.

Scream is probably gonna lose and that makes me sad

I think we can all join hands and as one vote for Texas Chainsaw Massacre over Poltergeist right?

That's a negative ghostrider, Poltergeist is a core memory, along with An American Werewolf in London, those were two of the first Horror movies I watched, at a much too young age.

The Thing vs Scream was tough. I love them both. Just remember many Sunday’s watching The Thing with my Dad. He loved that movie.

Poltergeist over TCM because Poltergeist is a core childhood memory. Saw it when I was like 12 and it scarred the crap out of me. Didn’t sleep well for days. This same reason is why I almost voted Nightmare on Elm St. over Psycho but couldn’t pull the trigger on it.

I doubt it will win but to me, and I'm in the minority, it is the greatest horror movie of all time.

That movie changed our culture, how we approach beach vacations, Hell Shark Week wouldn't exist without Jaws.

It was just so real because monsters, ghosts, demons, aliens, mystical slasher villians you have to suspend reality to get scared. But most people have been to the beach and swam in the ocean and they all have thought about. what if a shark gets me while swimming.

exactly what I thought. (plus the ending always bothered me)

I thought Cabin was a comedy or something else.
Also thought Nightmare was a thinly veiled ripoff of Phantasm.
