I've never been into comic books, so I just don't get the whole DC and MCU movie phenomenon.
However, the fact is that those movies have pretty much dominated the box office landscape for the last 10 to 15 years, maybe even longer. Further, what’s clear is that these movies can pretty much put any halfway decent actor/actress in these rolls and they’re still going to make a shite-ton of money.
Hell, even with a pathetic actor like Ben Affleck, these comic book movies can still turn a good profit.
So IMHO, judging any actor's or actress's box office appeal by looking at their comic book movies is a huge mistake -- especially the female "superhero" actresses.

Yep, such shite it became HBOMax’s most streamed DC related movie ever, which led to Peacemaker, a runaway hit for HBO that was claiming records for HBO Max, and James Gunn is now in charge of the DCEU.

Writers will say that it’s men’s fault for not giving female-driven leads the chance.
She’s not a terrible actress, it’s more the roles she chooses. In addition to the fact that COVID changed how people see movies and no one goes for anything other than big franchise releases.

Outside of Tom Cruise(and only when he picks the right films, which to his credit is most of the time), there is almost no such thing as a true Box Office draw anymore. At best some stars are an added benefit
Leonardo DiCaprio maybe has some of that classic superstar draw, but even Don’t Look Up showed he’s not infallible if the projects themselves aren’t already good and intriguing.

Marvel does a decent job of making a movie where you don't necessarily have to have followed the comics to understand. While also staying close enough to the source material to keep the comic nerds happy.
And keep the movie entertaining as well.

I was interested but thats a dealbreaker. If a movie is long enough to be a mini-series, I can wait.
Add in commercials and drive time, they're asking for a 4 hour commitment.
