well, those boobs aren't real, so she isn't flawless, but she was still very hot.
I enjoyed all the nipples on this show.

My biggest complaint, and i did not read the books, is Rei being his sister. She acted like a crazy ex girlfriend. No sister acts like that towards their brother. The love that they described didn't feel like sibling love, it felt like long lost love of two lovers. Just made it weird and unbelievable.

And while Ortega was very sexy, she was annoying as hell with her i'm the only woman literally in the police station but i'm the biggest bad arse their is.

I definitely would have taken the out Mrs. Bancroft gave Kovacs from the beginning. A sex island with a bunch of her clones? Sign me the frick up asap.

I gotta say this after watching 6 episodes so far:

Martha Higareda Is the hottest actress I’ve seen in a long time. Sheesh - she drips sexy.

This is an interview with the show runner about the possibilities in season 2. She also reminds us that NetFlix hasn't yet committed to season 2, but I've seen a lot of positive press coverage for this so I'd imagine they'll renew it. She talks some about season 1 for those that are interested. Obviously there are season 1 spoilers if you haven't finished. LINK /

quote:

The first season roughly followed the first book by Richard K Morgan. Will the second season follow his second book, Broken Angels, or will it be its own thing?
That’s a very expensive book! With space battles and giant portals and huge warships that are orbiting the planet and a thermonuclear explosion. Richard came and worked with us in the writers’ room for a couple weeks to try and hammer out a story that was able to use elements of the second book without creating the vastness that is the second book. Also, the stuff we created in the first season that conflated some elements from the third book — like bring Quell (Renee Elise Goldsberry) into the story earlier — that also altered the structure significantly. So now you have this character who wasn’t in the second book and I hope if we’ve done our job people will be very invested in this love story. So that becomes very much a part of what we’re doing . … The idea was to mimic what the books do, which is to go from planet to planet and not stay in the same city. So the intent would not be to return to Bay City for the second season. Part of what I love about the books is the degree to which they hold up a mirror to the idea of faster-than-light travel by entangled consciousness downloading. That’s what needlecasting would be; you’re re-creating a consciousness far faster than the speed of light on another planet — and that’s just too cool not to do something with. Richard and I have a plan, I don’t know how people will feel about the plan, but we do have one!

The second book also has a 30-year time jump…
I’m not ruling that out, especially in a world where you can clone people or 3D print people. The emotional passage of time is always a good thing. I wouldn’t want to do a 250-year jump again, but I like in the second book where emotionally Kovacs is at due to what’s happened to him in the interim.

The book readers seem to not like the departures that have been made from the books. But there appear to be some practical/money reasons for that and the author appears to be, if not complicit, at least involved in helping his book be adapted as required.

the changes are objectively terrible. most are done just to empower women. every interview and article i read is about how AC advances women. for a "passion project," she really ruined a lot.

It just made women look even more crazy and why they shouldnt be allow to make decisions. Every Decision a woman mad in that show was bad.

Finished the season yesterday, damn what a ride!

The plot was full with a lot of twists and turns that played extremely well off of a well-thought mindset on how bodies and life could be viewed with such a technology.

I think they went quite a bit overboard with Rei. They needed more time showing her mindset moving from being the dependent little sister to becoming the insanely jealous sister.

Ortega nude =

Finished watching it last night. Overall I liked it in spite of a few things that really sucked.

Quell + the entire backstory with Kovacs in the woods and all Quell's manifesto pseudo-philosophy oneliners, all that stuff was a load of shite. The story goes to shite once Rei comes in. The murder mystery element goes from being intriguing to painfully stupid really quick once the Rei plotlines get added into it. Leung goes from being interesting to boring once he's revealed to just be a henchman for Rei.

Really it's a credit to the people involved in the better elements of the show that it's still as watchable as it is in spite of all the ruinous shite.

Wut? Why ... why in this thread?

Anyways, ignoring that at my age ... the show is definitely The Matrix and Terminator on steroids IMHO. Better even because there is actually some legit science to the story line.

Anyone who doesn't get the spyders' thread reference and sensing the vibrations ... well then, you just don't get it.

Think about it. The sleeves, the flesh, the whole Matrix and construct thing ...

Just started the first two last night.

The wife and I enjoyed it so far. I've read that it cram nudity in every episode but so far it isn't any different from early GOT

speaking of got look at this screenshot from AC ep3:

See anything familiar?

I really enjoyed the show and thought it explored some really cool ideas. But the sister as villain idea went horribly off the tracks. What was her continual motivation? There was just no good reasoning for the dispute between the two and it really hurt the story IMO.

Guess I'm a little late but I finished this show.

Loved the world and visuals and most of the characters but it was tough to care about either the Envoy backstory or the mystery of who "murdered" the guy that can't die.

It helped to just turn your brain off and enjoy the ride.

That's my take as well plus ... they just miscast the sister. The actress was also on The 100 and she's not a good actress and she's very tough to look-at. I mean when you combine the bad role with the bad acting and the bad presence you're sure to frick-up the show unnecessarily.

Love the show otherwise.
