Will definitely watch. I watch pretty much all sci-fi that's on netflix.

They've done a decent job with scifi. Stranger things is really the only hit, but everything has been acceptable to good. I really like Travellers, and several of the movies I've seen have been solid. There's no Sharknados in their portfolio yet.

They alter the fabric of the world, like cars, air travel, the internet, and cell phones have.
Altered Carbon never shies from examining exactly how an invention like the cortical stack would change our reality, and this future society appears far different from our own. Yet in many ways, it's really exactly the same--which is more or less the prime directive of great science fiction.
Sounds like they've nailed the tone of the books based on this blurb. I am very excite.

pretty pissed they're cramming the marxist bullshite in there. it's like they can't make a scifi these days without class bullshite
takeshi is not a freedom fighter either. "i fought a war to stop people like you." no bruh

You need to read the other two books my man (particularly the third), cause you are off quite a bit on this. It's not super pronounced in Altered Carbon, but Kovacs quotes a person named Quellcrist Falconer a few times in that book. And Quell was a freedom fighter from his home world. And Quellism as described in the books is part socialism, part anarchist, part screw you authority.

I thought Quell was a woman? And I didn't get the class warfare at all from the first book, I took most of her quotes as anarchism

Yeah, Quell was a woman. And yeah, the full picture on Quell comes during the next two books. SHe's more anarchy and anti-authority to take down politicos on all sides combined with wanting to replace it with a socialistic democracy type deal. Her philosophy was of the everybody in charge sucks, let's take down both sides and replace them with something better.
And Kovacs becomes involved in a bit of that sort of action in the two following books, though he very much remains damaged, cold blooded Kovacs for most of it.

I bought the book because of the trailer. Looking to finish before it comes out in a couple of weeks.
Not into SF that much, but Damn, this book is good. Very difficult to put down. Will definitely be on my watch list!

My early opinion, it's ok. I'll finish watching but was not blown away.

How many episodes deep are you?
I was hoping this would be good, like many of you here. Disappointing to see these early reviews.

Should I continue with my second run of Game of Thrones or give this a shot? (Love GOT)

I'm on episode 4 and it's okay like someone else said. Not great, not horrible.

I tried to like this series but the acting is horrible and the story is just so boring.

I don't find the story boring and I love the tech.
What is so creepy about AI hotels? they seem cool.
