Check out Sam's hair in this one pic.

he rumor on this photoshoot, that they had a short schedule and lost Jules's wig and just went without it. No idea if it's true.

It’s in my top five. I think over time it got so popular it became cool to have a contrarian view that it’s overrated. But if you go back to when it was released it was groundbreaking.

I remember I was in high school and stayed home on a Friday night and it came on HBO. I had never heard of it and I didn’t move for three hours.

I know i've watched this more than any other movie and it's not even close. Whenever asked which movies i always stop to watch no matter where in the movie it happens to be, this is my answer.

Right year, but two months short.

what was groundbreaking about it?

honest question. I"m almost 40 and didn't see it until a few years ago, so i have no idea what you mean by groundbreaking. I'd likely have more appreciation for it had i seen it 25 years ago, not that i don't like the movie, but it's nothing special to me. I've seen it, it was good, but i'm not going to go out of my way to watch it again.

I'm no movie expert. But, i know it was the first time i had seen a movie where the scenes were all out of order.

I think that's why it's easy to pick up at any point of the movie.

Something can be great and still be overrated.

So, you're saying you've never seen the original release of "Godfather II".

That movie is chock full of flashbacks in time.

Yep. I was blown away by this when it came out. It’s a great movie. I’m still partial to True Romance as my favorite QT flock but Pulp Fiction is way up on my list.

Flashbacks and totally jumbled up like PF is are two totally different things.

Memento was the next movie whose order was a total mindfrick. IIRC, there was a DVD special edition where you could unlock the chronological order by taking a psych test.

Funny story: We had EW in the house and they talked about this movie pretty much all the time back then. My mother refused to take me to R movies in the theatre but had no qualms about me watching predator at home or Dennis Miller live on HBO (go figure).

So this finally gets to the local blockbuster and she says sure. I was like, whoa. Thought I had just pulled off the heist of the century. Sandwiched it between a couple video games. lol.

Pop it in the minute I get home and its everything I thought it would be. (mind you, im like 15 tops at the time). The cursing. The suits. The dancing. IM IN BABY. Then Zedd and the gimp pop up and im confused as hell. This was new territory. and who walks in right at that time? "Honey? What are you watching? O MY GOD WHAT IN THE WORLD TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF!!!! frick frick frick"

I had to wait until I got to college to finish that movie. Mostly because my BB card got torn up on the spot. fricking Jim and his dad with the apple pie scene type awkwardness after. Only I legit had no idea that scene was in there. They really gloss over that in EW. fml.

This is the movie that got me hooked on Tarantino, then I went back and saw his earlier stuff, (Reservoir Dogs, True Romance) and dove the hell in.

The Godfather II was two separate, but related, storylines proceeding linearly at the same time. Pulp Fiction was all over the place with multiple, loosely related story lines

This movie came out my senior year of high school. I saw it 3 times in the theater.

My sister, who hates violence in any form, asked me if it was a violent movie. I knew my brother in law really wanted to see it, so I told her "not at all. Its more of a comedy, and there's a love triangle mixed in there. You'll love it."

She was so pissed at me when they got back from the theater.

Well, considering there was the scene where Butch, the boxer, was just a young kid and Christopher Walken, playing the friend of his father, came by to visit.

He related a story about both of them being in a POW camp in Nam and how the 2 of them kept that family heirloom watch up their asses to make sure young Butch eventually got it.

I'd say that's close to the same thing as the many back and forth scenes from G II.

You're talking about one flashback in the movie that added depth to Butch's story.

The rest of Pulp Fiction was not flashbacks, like we saw in GF2. The story of Pulp Fiction was told in a non-linear fashion, which is nothing at all like the parallel storylines in Godfather.
