Toured the Santa Cruz "campus" or camp retreat/University in the 90s;

this could've been their mascot....

D2 in Arkansas alone has the Bollweevils/Cotton Blossoms, Wonderboys, and Muleriders. Pretty sure they're still in the same conference too

This is correct... my daughter is being recruited by two of these for softball currently haha

I’ll add some of the KCAC (NAIA) mascots

Southwestern Moundbuilders (logo is a black cat due to a cat that hung out in one of the buildings on campus back in the day)
Bethel Threshers (wheat harvesting equipment)
Bethany Swedes
St Mary Spires (spires on church on campus)
Evangel Valor

Bear cats are only found in the wilds of Southeast Asia. Honestly didn’t know it was a real thing until I looked it up. Weird that Cincinnati chose it as a mascot.

Plenty of schools are devils of some kind (Blue, Sun) but “Demons” is rare.

The DePaul Blue Demons had one of my favorite logos.

The Rhode Island School of Design has a hockey team. They are known as the Nads, aka the Pricks.

Their mascot’s name is Scrotie. LINK

Meet Scrotie:

They also tap into the same concept with their sailing team - the Seamen, and their basketball team - the Balls.

Glenville High School, Cleveland, Ohio

A Tarblooder was a railroad worker whose job was to smear hot tar on railroad ties after they were laid, to seal them and hold them in place. The mixture of tar, dirt, sweat pouring off of these men and the occasional real blood led to the term Tarblooder. these men truly sweat blood.

Whack, Thud, Tarblood!
