If they’re intellectually fine with using a smaller ball, let’s just lower the goal to 8.5 or 9 feet so they can dunk and play above the rim.

Agreed this makes total sense

How the hell could you not notice the big boy basketball and football difference immediately?
These girls probably played with boys all through high school in pickup games and just make do. Playing with both balls makes them less sensitive than the reverse.

Do they have different markings or logos along with the size and weight differences (or even the size noted)? Or they trying to fool people into thinking they use same basketball as men by making it looking completely identical?

If any different markings including size it seems like this shouldn’t have taken as long as it did to figure out. Inflated wrong maybe but not this.

"It's embarrassing for our sport." And for the players and coaches even more than who the coach blames.

It's not women's basketball if they're not complaining about being mistreated.

The official rules of the game include having to whine that the guys get treated better at least 3 times a season

Have you really never seen both balls? It’s as clear as day there is a difference. These people are morons, even more so since this is their job.

Imagine typing on a typewriter all day and blaming men that they thought it was a laptop.

They should. It’s pretty stupid women play on a 10 foot goal.

They also usually at least have 1 marking on them noting it

Exactly, how could college players not notice the difference? I could tell the difference in high school.

No doubt. I could easily palm a girls ball, but had to struggle with a boys ball. We had a rack of mixed balls, and I immediately knew if I grabbed a girls ball.

It would never happen because one of the men would notice and ask for the right ball.

Anyone that played in HS would have experienced the balls getting mixed on the racks at some point.

Why on earth did none of them say anything, each team would have had 28.5

A coach just randomly making this story up would be even stranger than the story itself. I would 100% fire my coach if I knew they just created a lie like that out of thin air. That’s abnormal, concerning behavior.

Why would a coach make up a lie that makes them look dumb? It makes more sense to lie and cover it up to prevent someone from thinking you are incompetent.

The great state of Kansas did not invent basketball with the intention of this happening
