It's always easy to spot people that have never played the sport competitively.

Champions from mid majors have been winning these bowl games for some time now (BCS + New Years 6):
Boise (3x)
Utah (2x)
UCF (2x incl this year)
TCU (while in MWC)
Houston
Last year, Wisconsin barely beat Western Michigan.
The extra bowl game was added to the BCS following the 2005 season. That means that a mid major has won 10 big bowl games in 12 years. Thats almost one per year. It's commonplace and they deserve a shot at the playoff if they're undefeated.
Furthermore, looks to me like the big boys lose a lot of these games. The sample is getting too large to keep passing these P5 losses as a lack of motivation.

Yeah, but Hawaii didn't do good that one time...

So he gives 10 examples and you give 1

Yep. Hawaii proves that P5 teams are never motivated in these games.

UCF’s opponents on average 5.7 losses this year. This is from an AAC schedule with an FCS team on it
Alabama's opponents this year avg 5.75 during the regular season....quit playin'

In 1970, Texas lost in the Cotton Bowl. They still claim a national title that year.
Why wouldn't they? It was AP or Coaches.

I was referring to the blatant troll attempt on UCF’s behalf

Good for them, why not? Still wish Auburn would have done this after 2004.

If we were fairly ranked in the 5-8 range going into the peach bowl I'd think this was a weak move. But I'm cool with our AD going guns blazing after the #12 ranking.

There’s never been and never will be an objective system in college football.
The BCS was the only objective system college football has ever had.

I don't have a problem with it...Bama claims numerous fake championships, so I think it's only fair.

The AP still awards a trophy. So do the Coaches.

Except it wasn’t subjective as it took in rankings and SOS and preseason stuff
