It earns them more than losing to a four loss Auburn team.

Well for one it's harder to just include more games as there's a lot more wear and tear on players. There's way more games in other sports, so it's easier to be more inclusive of smaller teams. I'm not entirely against an 8 team playoff, but I don't want to see cfb go the way of other sports where the regular season is devalued.

Or is it that the Big dogs are afraid if a mid-major pulls a major upset and actually wins a title it will bring about the parity that exist in other sports. Just a thought.

There's more parity in basketball in the regular season as well though. Non power conference teams beat power conference teams pretty regularly. P5 teams dominate G5 teams in the regular season in football.

How is that hard to believe?

Why is it so hard to believe Auburn was not happy with where they were and didn't play as hard as they had? Games where there isn't equal motivation should be taken with a grain of salt.

Very true. Doesn't mean UCF wasn't deserving of a shot.
I agree.

Just not over the best team in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Yeah, but only when it fits your nonsense.

Then make it 16 teams and see how that affects motivation. Also, do you disagree that "we weren't motivated" is a built in excuse?

Because the play on the field does not support this claim.

That was not my thought process at all. You brought up the Utah vs Bama game as a comparison for motivation. That game was over in the first quarter because Bama clearly didn’t care. The ucf auburn game was 13-6 at half and auburn tied it in the 3rd. They were driving to tie at the end of the game. That does not support the claim of an unmotivated team.

I'd love to see that honestly. They should have had a shot this year.

Not with the current system and number of bowl games, no.

You can just go through the motions and still compete against a team. LSU did it often.

It isn't necessarily about how hard a team plays on game day.

One team is incredibly disappointed after dropping from #2 to out of the playoffs after smoking their HATED rival and going to the SECCG. Then you have the holidays and you see family and eat like shite and recover from the disappointment and then go back and try to prepare for your pointless bowl game but that's hard and you're not really 100% into and frick extra film study and some guys are thinking about the NFL and why do they need to go all out practicing for this stupid game etc, etc.

The other team is pissed tf off and hyper focused at all times on exactly what they need to do to win the biggest game of their life in order to show the world they're a real team and shove it up the committee's arse.

Both teams play hard on game day. One is more motivated and WAY more prepared.
