Good. They earned it, and on the field, not in a conference room behind closed doors.

They were given zero chance despite doing everything they could.

Props to them.

Show losses. I have come to learn quality of ones loss is the most important metric

Claiming fake championships is a time honored college football tradition. Congrats UCF on finally making it.

Yeah, they sure proved it by beating 11 G5 teams, a 4-8 P5 team, and a 3 loss P5 team in their bowl game.

What's wrong about it?

Got it off Finebaum's twitter feed, so I wouldn't be surprised.

It's not about doing everything you can. Playing 11 G5 teams and a 4-8 P5 team isn't a strong enough resume to get into the playoffs, sorry.

One of the reasons you have to go to 16 teams.

3 loss P5 team

Well, one of the participants in the "championship" game didn't and the other needed a second chance.

Beating an unmotivated 3 loss Auburn team doesn't earn them anything.

is this any worse than those UPI national titles that used to be awarded to teams before the bowl games...eg, Texas was awarded a national title in the 60's or 70's but lost their bowl game.

Why should any of us care. They went undefeated and if they want to claim themselves national champs let them. It'll be a season their fans will never forget and we will all forget about their season in a year or so.

Transitive property is fun and totally works in football.
