Ehh, at a minimum 2/3rds of it was subjective human polls.

They earned it on the field, not in a committee board room!

American Athletic Conference was just as good as many P5 conferences this year, bottom line. Had as many as 5 teams in the top 25 this year, with many wins over P5 schools.

If we were fairly ranked in the 5-8 range going into the peach bowl I'd think this was a weak move. But I'm cool with our AD going guns blazing after the #12 ranking.

True, I didn't mean it was perfect but it had a degree of objectivity. I had forgotten what the Harris poll even was until I just looked it up.

Good. They earned it, and on the field, not in a conference room behind closed doors.

You're making fun of Bama in support of a team that is claiming national titles they didn't actually win.

Think about that for a second

If the only thing that changes in this year's Iron Bowl is Alabama is replaced by UCF, Auburn wins the game by ~30.

Gotta love that eye test

Depends on what you call many. These are the ones I saw. Not many of the teams they beat were considered good. May have missed some.

UCF over Auburn
USF over Texas Tech
UCF over Maryland
Memphis over UCLA
USF over Illinois
Houston over Arizona

They didn't play a game against a team that could beat Alabama.

They beat Auburn who beat both Bama and Georgia.
