Seems perfect, tie up a bunch of money in a guy who won't help you be good.

They gotta give out a certain amount of money anyway, seems like a great way to tank.

I have a question related to this re: the salary floor for those who know more about the cap and CBA than me.

Aside from having to distribute money to your existing players to get to the floor, what are the penalties for not reaching it? If that's all you have to do and that makeup money is only a one year commitment, this seems better than throwing a 4 year monstrosity type contract at someone who isn't close to worth it and ruining your flexibility just to reach the floor.

The amount you're under gets divided up and paid to the team's current players, i think that's it.

So yea, there's not much reason to go out of your way to reach it from what I gather, especially if you're giving out multi year deals, like you said.

I think the NBA encourages the media to make it a big deal. There are no real consequences.

You need to work on your troll; it's been too obvious for the last couple of seasons.

Okay, I wasn't sure and I've always seen people refer to it when seemingly dumb contracts are given out. I wasn't sure if it reset some escalation in rookie scale contracts or something though

He also made 2 or 3 "guarantees" regarding the Spurs, of which, all of them failed in spectacular fashion.

Crowder is the epitome of 'just a guy' IMO. Average starter doesn't really move the needle positively or negatively.

I'd say he's above average. Not going to be a 1-2 guy, but as a 3rd guy he plays and fits his role perfectly.

Offensively, solid: 14PPG, shot 45.0/37.1/81.0 the last 2 years. Solid passing skills (2:1 AST:TO).

Defensively, 13th among all SFs in DRPM (Comparison LeBron is 9, Giannis is 11), RPM is 5th overall.

Decent rebounder 5.5 in 32 minutes

He's pretty complete, he's just not elite at anything.

So you'd trade Brown now with much less value than he may have if he reaches his ceiling?

I think it's a no brainer than Brown is the better asset at this moment, due to his potential.

The biggest gripe people had about Brown was his low floor, but everyone agreed he had arguably the highest ceiling of the top 3 picks.

Brown has more value to rebuilding teams, agreed...Younger and higher potential. For a contender, Crowder is worth more than Brown.

If Boston is going to make a deal with the goals of contending now, more than likely the team they trade with will want Brown to rebuild and that's fine. He's shown spurts of what he could be, but if Boston intends to contend now, than yes I would trade Brown before Crowder. You'd still have Tatum who has an equally high ceiling as Brown. 3 wings is a logjam if 2 can't shoot well. If 1 can't shoot well, that's a lot different.

You are awful. Every time you say something about SA, you say something foolish.

Stop it.

not sure how i feel about the rudy gay pickup yet. how he fits in to the offense.

could we see 2 pg's and 2 sf's on the floor?
can he put his character issues aside and contribute?
can he stay healthy a full season?
