The Tobias Harris trade was pretty good. But I think this gets us in the conversation for one of the last playoff spots in the East (I know the East blows, but after the decade we've had, I'll take it), especially if Reggie Jackson returns to 2015-2016 form.

Yep they decided they weren't gonna reaign Bradley. Brown got NEXT at the 2.

Brown
Heyward
Tatum

Is the starting 2-4 in 2 years.

You don't think they'll just put Crowder at the 2? Go IT, Crowder, Hayward, Morris, Horford?

Brown maybe better than Crowder as soon as next season.

I think the problem was Boston was negotiating without any leverage. Every GM knew they needed to unload some salary and there was an artificial deadline in doing so. Plus, Detroit will have to worry about bringing Bradley back next offseason.

He's a UFA and if they were to renegotiate he would have a starting salary at 10.6 mil. Not gonna happen

I think after ASB we might see him play more, but Crowder is vastly underrated as a role player. Defends well, shoots well enough you have to respect him.

For all the talks of replacing Crowder, his contract might be the best in terms of production:cost. I'd trade Brown before I trade Crowder honestly. With Crowder, he's never going to command max money. If Brown reaches his ceiling he will, but then you already have Hayward and Tatum afterwards. Not enough $ to go around.

I don't love Morris but he's on a steal of a contract as well. Less than 11 mil total for the next 2 years.

Hawks should try and bring Kentavious Caldwell Pope home

Crowder is the epitome of 'just a guy' IMO. Average starter doesn't really move the needle positively or negatively.

So you'd trade Brown now with much less value than he may have if he reaches his ceiling?

I think it's a no brainer than Brown is the better asset at this moment, due to his potential.

Not really. KCP isn't enough to bring them out of tank mode. But he is a solid piece to build around and he's homegrown

I get what you're saying, but there's no way I would trade Brown before Crowder. But I also have a man crush on Brown so there's that.

You would be crazy to give up Brown before Crowder. If Brown keeps developing his three, he can be very dangerous

Seems perfect, tie up a bunch of money in a guy who won't help you be good.

They gotta give out a certain amount of money anyway, seems like a great way to tank.

That's because he's never going to be very good.

He's serviceable and he's on an incredible deal for a starter. His contract is the best thing about him quite frankly.

yeah, you might do that on a short deal that leaves you some flexibility to go into free agency in 2018 or 19 ready to spend. I don't see KCP taking that kinda deal.

the Hawks have basically no bigs outside of John Collins (a rookie who's probably not ready for big minutes) and Miles Plumlee. if you're looking for how they'll get to the salary floor, that's probably where the money's gonna go.
