The NBA is just bad TV. The real athletes are on the ice

Stanley’s Cup has been insane this year. There is no questioning that. 2OT, OT, 2OT. And all of the comebacks

You may be right. I’ve never watched hockey, so I wouldn’t know. I will say the Finals have been exciting as all get out and I haven’t exactly regretted watching it. Having said that, I’d watch a Stanley Cup runner up series if given that choice and the World Cup

The refs can’t get it right in the NHL either. Vegas should be up 3-0.

Maybe. I've never watched hockey though.

Stanley Cup has been objectively fantastic

I disagree. It’s hard to get excited about a hockey series between markets like Carolina and Vegas when a New York team is in the NBA Finals. Wemby’s got star power, too.

I like both. Playoff hockey and playoff basketball are incredible sports theater. Idk why some people act like it has to be one over the other.

Right. Is that even a question?

Lmao there’s a thread on X from a few days ago, talks about how obsessed hockey fans are with comparing themselves with the NBA but no one simply cares about hockey

It’s an unnecessary thread. Both sports have been fantastic. I don’t understand the need for the debate.
As a lad raised in the Great White North, I’m naturally going to watch hockey but, for some reason, I’m finding the Knicks run riveting.
Who cares about the Knights.

OP is correct. No flopping, whining, and virtue signaling on top of it.

I tried to like the NBA. I gave it a legitimate shot supporting my local team, and it was just a terrible product. But you know what really made me drop the NBA?
I started watching hockey.
I get that the NBA is waaaaay more popular and it’s not even close. But once you get used to hockey… you see it’s way more entertaining.

OP is correct….but, this year, both have been really good. So far.
It’s a gift for someone who doesn’t care who wins either.

In a year where both have been great, I agree the NHL playoffs have been better.

Often times. But not this finals.

I mean I don’t totally disagree but these finals/WCF has been some fun ball to watch.

I’ve never been a big hockey fan until recently but playoff hockey is fantastic. It’s a lot more thrilling than the NBA.

I was getting into hockey a long time ago. Had the NHL game on Sega or whatever. It was on espn and gaining a lot of momentum and then the lockout that canceled the 2004-2005 season, right when it was on the verge of really taking off. After that, seemed like the networks moved on from hockey.
