2003 draft must have sucked if we can’t do better than Carson Palmer #1

Seems like people forget what Palmer was before the knee injury

You mean like play run defense and make tackles? Yea that's illustrated in those stats as well. Look at a HOF DT like Kyle Williams stats compared to Ngata's. I'm just trying to point out how terribly overrated Ngata was, while how terribly underrated Williams was because of his sub-par rookie season.

Ask Ray Lewis why he still played at an All Pro level in his late 30s.

The re-drafted #1 in that draft went undrafted in real life. He still plays TE for the Chargers.

I would also take Polamalu, Suggs, Witten and Anquan Boldin over Palmer. Every day and twice on Sunday.

He was a nose tackle in a 3-4. Please stop referencing tackle stats like you know what you are talking about.

Wut? You mean the guy whose team declined to resign him on 2 different occasions and has only made 2 Pro Bowls?

Over a guy that's been to 7 Pro Bowls and has made All Pro 4 times.

AB will be a first ballot HOF

Ngata's best year was 2010, in which he had 46 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Williams' best year - 2007 - 43 tackles 14 sacks. Williams had double digit sacks in 5 seasons, with two different teams. Also seasons with 9 and 8.5 sacks

Are you implying that Williams was a better player than Ngata? Ngata was the most dominant DT in the league for a solid 7 yr stretch and maybe even longer. There are 10 Mario Williams in the league at any given time. They are asked to do two different things. The fact that Ngata even has that many sacks in lagniappe when you factor that is value isnt drawn from pressuring the QB. Ngata forced teams to change their gameplan

Because he killed a guy and stole his life force to remain young?

Eh, I think Goff is ascending. I take him based on trajectory.

You should put when your new #1 was actually drafted.

Dude c'mon man. Joe Greene is the heart of the Steel Curtain...but most teams had great defenses and everything was about how to produce offense during the rules of that time...

The lowest scoring era...the football equivalent of the Dead Ball Era.

Running was still kind due to the pass rules and every team would take the best running back of the 70's.

Terrell Suggs would be my #1.

As for Gates, he could easily be #1 too but I think a DE/rush LB is more valuable than a TE.

Polamalu- Im not taking a safety #1.

I know Luck has made a massive comeback and was doing a lot with less before his injury. But shouldn't Russell Wilson be #1 from 2012?
bullshite. Seahawks would be more successful if Luck was their qb and Colts would be worse if Wilson was their qb.
