Although I agree with your list generally.

Dude c'mon man. Joe Greene is the heart of the Steel Curtain...but most teams had great defenses and everything was about how to produce offense during the rules of that time...

I get it. That was the hardest one for me to decide.

I went with longevity. Greene was the best player on the best defense for over a decade.

O.J. went from GOAT season to completely washed up in 5 years.

He was the best from 1972-1976. The rest of his seasons are below average for a franchise RB.

Are you implying that Williams was a better player than Ngata? Ngata was the most dominant DT in the league for a solid 7 yr stretch and maybe even longer. There are 10 Mario Williams in the league at any given time. They are asked to do two different things. The fact that Ngata even has that many sacks in lagniappe when you factor that is value isnt drawn from pressuring the QB. Ngata forced teams to change their gameplan

There are 4 total active players with more sacks that Williams had in his 11 year career (97.5). Two of them are Julius Peppers and Terrell Suggs, who are going on their 18th and 17th year in the league, respectively. Care to take a gander who the other 2 are? Mario Williams is 39th on the ALL TIME career sacks list, and he only played 11 seasons.

I can think of several DTs who were equal to or more "dominant" than Ngata during his tenure.

Wilfork
Kyle Williams
Casey Hampton
Jay Ratliff
Linval Joseph

I'm sure I'm missing some here.

He tied up half the opponent's O-Line freeing up two first ballot HOFers to do their thing in the middle of the field.

"He played with other great players so that makes him great."
