Good for them. I won’t donate a dime to any kind of NIL fund to any school.

I hate the Longhorns as much as anyone, but it’s looking like they’ll be poised to skullfrick the SEC for many years to come.

35-40 million will seem like a bargain in 5 years if this isn’t somehow brought under control.

This is true.
Hasn't it already doubled, tripled on the past 2 years?

Alabama and LSU aren’t going to like the fact that Texas will have way way more money to spend.

Greatest thing ever would be for Arch to be like Peyton in his rookie year with a billion interceptions. No fan base would deserve it more with all of the chest thumping going on.

Sounds like the late 70s / early 80s except with Texas rather than SMU.

Except Texas would never have received the death penalty for doing what SMU did. Maybe forfeit a season and lose a few scholarships, that’s about it.

I bet that Texas team with Vince Young “cheated” worse than SMU, but no one at the NCAA cared.

This also figures to be a one-time exorbitant expense because athletic director Chris Del Conte and others have said the school plans to phase out its collective in favor of the revenue-sharing via the House settlement

How delusional is this guy? You set the bar at 40 million and call it a one time thing and next year will be back to normal? Not a fricking chance are you going to put that genie back in the bottle.

Texas is not spending $35-40M on a football roster for 1 season

Do you have any idea what one directional oil well in W Texas pays? You don’t and it’s staggering.

UT has hundreds of them. 40m is piggy bank money

Lol and?
Side note: Judkins was arguably the best RB in the country and was paid enough by OSU to pull him away from a preseason title contender who also was going all in on a natty run.
