Students can play

This is the United States of America. If a kid is enrolled in school he can play for said school. Even after an NFL career. It will doom the NFL because college stadiums have much larger stadiums with much larger fan base than the NFL.

I agree. If a student can join the band or debate team no matter their age or professional experience, they should be able to play sports if they can make the team.
And with the ability to earn now factoring in, the only way to definitively stop former professionals from going back to school is probably Congressional action with the Protect Sports Act or something similar.

Oh well. They were fully aware that signing a contract would make you ineligible to play NCAA Football again when they chose to sign their contract. Were any of these "kids" fully aware of the rules changes when they entered fall camp and tried to make an NFL team? They continued down the path of professionalism well after the rules changed.
I would have sympathy for anyone that filed a petition to regain college eligibility within 10 days of the NCAA announcing the rule changes. However, this continuing to try and make the NFL roster and coming back to college after you get cut is BS and you know it.

There will eventually be no eligibility limits and anyone, regardless of their age, will be able to be hired by a college team if the college team wants them.
It’s a profession. Depending on how much money gets spent, colleges will definitely compete with NFL teams to sign the best available talent.
And college will be filled with a lot of “not good enough for NFL but good enough for college” players that some will end up being 6-10 year veterans
It’s inevitable. NCAA will never win this fight in court.
A University hiring a football player to play on the football team is no different than them hiring any paid position (professor on down to janitor). There’s no restrictions there either certsinly not age/experience

There was no alternative option for them to do bro. Its the NCAA's fault for constantly changing eligibility rules and fricked up timing and a shite show of their redshirting rules.

The NFL made over 20 billion dollars in revenue last year.
The entire FBS combined made about 7 billion dollars.
32 teams made 20 billion
130 teams made 7 billion
The lowest revenue NFL team was the Bengals with ~$495 million dollars
The highest revenue FBS football team were the Texas Longhorns with ~$343 million dollars
I think the NFL will be just fine without 100,000 seat stadiums.

Doesn't matter. It's the kids fault; not the NCAA. They chose to go pro which everyone with at least one functioning braincell knows that at this point you can't go back. Please provide a link to any news story where these kids who wanted to go back to NCAA and not be profressionals petitioned the NCAA or filed suit before NFL training camps. They chose to make an NFL team and are using the NCAA as their fall back plan because they are good enough for the NFL.
It sucks for them that the rules changed after they left, but they were no longer part of or eligible to part of the NCAA at that time so the rule changes don't apply to them. If the rule changes were meant to apply to them then NCAA would have announced provisions and grandfather clauses at the time they announced the rule changes. Its obvious the rules were meant to go into effect for athletes eligible to participate in the 26-27 school year.
There's nothing stopping these "kids" from continuing to use their name imagine and likeness to earn a living.
