I’m probably the only one who has no idea who these ladies are.

Maybe because I quit watching ESPN about three years ago.

This is why affirmative action and woke hiring is bad. Many many black people got to where they are by earning it. Many were hired just because they were black. We know both of those statements are true. If you were a black person, wouldn’t you want to know you were hired because you were the best rather than just filling a quota?

I like Maria Taylor. I think she’s beautiful and talented. And I think she 100% earned every position she’s had at ESPN, but due to the way society is today, how can we know for sure? Wouldn’t it be nice to cut out all the bullshite and not even have this be a question?

i would imagine off camera most would defend Nichols. she has to have a good rep with players after all these years

Yep. Stephen Jackson just doesn’t give AF and will speak his mind whenever. He’s got some good Artest stories too.

I actually like both and think they are both good at their jobs. But it's funny that the complaints come from Nichols. I can pretty much guarantee she wouldn't be where she was without her father or mother in law. I personally, don't care too much about that either as I'm going to give my kid every advantage I can. The irony is just ripe.

This might be an unpopular opinion on this board (I know it would be on the OT), but I actually like Maria Taylor. I liked her when she started off on the SEC Network, then went to Game Day and on...

There are several people who work for ESPN I think got promoted because of ESPN wanting to be more diverse, but Maria Taylor is actually good at her job.

She was good on Gameday but got all uppity when she got moved to NBA coverage.

Could Jay Williams, Jalen Rose & Kendrick Perkins get a job with any other network?

Kendrick Perkins should be unloading trucks somewhere. If he beats Forrest Gump' s movie IQ by more than 15 I'd be shocked.

Jalen Rose is bad, and I'm not defending him. I'd rather not hear his voice.

Jay Williams is..... OK? That's the best I can say.

The only thing these guys have is knowledge of a very specific game that they used to play professionally so they can almost sound intelligent when talking hoops. Any time the subject matter diverts from basketball Xs and Os, they are all revealed to be the ignoramuses that they ultimately are. The show is highly regimented and they have their hand held every step of the way. Speaking about something other than basketball is (and should be) by design, something to avoid

If they wanted to be more diverse they'd hire more white guys and some Asians.

Every pregame/post-game show in basketball and football is just former athletes who are 75% black.

NIH,

Just FYI, this is why people complain about the poli-board stuff ruining the rest of TD.

You can be right about Oweo, and still keep it somewhere else.

Yeah, but there has to be other former players out there that would do better than these clowns..

IMO Jalen Rose is the better of the three and that's only because I think Jay Williams & Perkins are the worst.

They should fire all 3 and hire Kwame Brown.

ESPN is a joke and nothing to what it use to be in the 90s.

No doubt about it, they had a really good sports network going and for some reason decided to dive head first into partisan politics. They can die a slow and painful death as far as I'm concerned

Kwame said weeks ago that Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes trashtalk black men and carry the water for their white masters like Rachel Nichols. Then Stephen Jackson kinda did that right here.

The former pros who carry both enough notoriety and have some sort of broadcasting talent are too expensive given the fact that ESPN has been laying off the last few years.

Too busy getting public intoxication charges while him & CB4 drink in the street in front of his own home.
