Don Criqui was very underrated, especially his annual Orange Bowl broadcast with John Brodie then Bob Trumpy on New Years night. I remember getting up and manually changing the channel to ABC during a commercial to hear Jackson and Broyles do the Sugar Bowl.

ill echo ron franklin (loved when he did CBB) and kevin harlan for sure.

One that seemed to be unpopular when he did it is bob knight. i absolutely loved when bob knight was on a game. i learned a ton about basketball from having him there. always looked forward to it. the internet didnt seem to like him.

for the exact opposite reason, i love bill walton. he is beyond incredible. i learn about a bunch of other shite besides basketball during his games, and i love it. i don't want him on the national championship (not a problem we are going to run into), but having him on a random CBB game is amazing.

Jon Miller talks about how the most famous Japanese baseball announcer basically just copied Vin Scilly.

You know you're World famous when foreign countries think that's what a baseball announcer should sound like.

I can’t put my finger on it but he’s as the primary guy for ESPN, he doesn’t generate much excitement. His calls don’t stand out and he’s just kind of vanilla.

Not gonna lie, even though he can be annoying, Sean McDonough has an obvious love for sports and gets as emotional as a fan when something crazy happens. I love it when his voice breaks at the peak of his excitement level.

I'm not even a hockey guy but would tune in for a while just to hear him call a game. I can't say that about any other announcer.

Same here. I don’t know what it is but his name makes me immediately think of LSU v Auburn. Like it’s seared into my brain.

I’ve never been excited about a sportscaster, BUT I’m looking forward to that game Eli and Peyton are calling.
