If it's ok for Bama to claim titles it's ok for UCF too.

Not sure if this is serious but isn't that exactly what Kelly said about ND? And ND has a hell of a lot better shot than UCF

The difference is that Frost is back at UCF while Kelly is still with LSU.

So far Kelly hasn't gotten LSU to the playoffs.

I’m not sure how anyone could defend these statements.

It really screams “the lights are on, but no one is home”.

I would honestly hate this hire or at least be wary about his actual potential to make UCF a winner again. It’s not a sexy job to begin with but they could attract an elite assistant with a high ceiling.

I think these are apples and oranges. Kelly felt ND can't win it because they just don't have the resources to get over the hump and compete with SEC and B1G teams. Frost feels UCF can't win one because they are not allowed to. 2017 there was literally nothing more they could do and they weren't allowed to even compete for it.

Notre Dame is competitively eliminated from it.

UCF is systemically eliminated from it. At least they were at the time. Now, the 2017 team would have an automatic entry.

I guess even Scott Frost knows that mythical NC for UCF was BS and they cannot win one there.

If Frost had taken in Burrow, it would have changed the program for a couple of years. And maybe for a few years after that.

Maybe he would have been more successful if he had spent more time focusing on coaching and recruiting instead of alcohol and coeds.

That's the story going around here. He and his wife bought a home in Phoenix a couple years back and immediately the stories were going around regarding his boozing and womanizing. Apparently more than a few times he was seen visibly drunk in public.

That wasn't my point. My point was that it is an awkward thing for Frost to say when he is coaching the team that he left originally to have a chance at a championship. Kelly saying it is a compliment to the program he is currently coaching. Frost saying it is an insult to his current program.

Tugged with what, $20 million?

I'd imagine with $20 million you could get tugged a lot. You'd have to ask Robert Kraft about that though.

Well, we know one thing for sure. A&M sure as hell can't lay claim to any titles real or imagined.

Joe Burrow wanted to transfer to Nebraska in 2018. That where his dad and his brothers played. Scott Frost showed no interest saying that he wan't better than any of the QB's on the roster.

Yeah, but Burrow was a backup at Ohio State. It wasn't like he was coming off his 2019 performance looking to transfer.

He'd thrown for a whopping 287 yards in two years (after redshirting) and didn't win the Ohio State job in spring ball. His own team didn't think he was better than QBs they had on their roster.

From what I heard he was drinking A LOT and was showing up to team meetings and practices hungover

Also blew off Dylan Raiola which is why Raiola originally committed elsewhere

His idol was Tom Osborne and his dream was to follow in Osborne's footsteps and become the next great Nebraska coach... didn't happen
